Whether it’s a quiet drink with friends, or an appetizing meal, The Post Office Cafe is the place to be.

Sit out in the garden bar and breath in the scent of lavender and roses on a hot summer day, or cozy up by the open fire on a cold winters evening, and relish the great ambience and atmosphere.

Our cafe and bar is the perfect place to enjoy, lunch or dinner with family, friends or that someone special.

With an extensive menu, there’s something for everyone’s taste buds and budget. We also have available a wide selection of local wines, fresh baking (the best scones in the country we’ve been told), coffee, beers, spirits and non alcoholic beverages and are open from 10am daily.

Ritchie the chef/owner will be happy to sit and discuss menu options and ideas for those special occasions, birthdays, Christmas party’s, Weddings etc. We can seat up to 90 people
inside and an additional 50 people outside.

A favorite for rail trailers to unwind after a hard few days of cycling or to relax before setting of on their adventure.

Accommodation is also available at The Postmasters House right next door and is the ideal place to stay for those wishing to enjoy and evening out without the worry of having to travel any further.

I took a friend to the Post Office for lunch on wednesday the 28th. All the tables inside were free but we wanted to ask if there was a table in the garden bar we could have. We stood in front of both the counters, with four different staff walking past us for almost 5 minutes. At one point I said hi the the girl behind the coffee counter, & she said hi back before she walked away. We could see they had a few tables of people out the back but they really weren’t THAT busy. Certainly not busy enough to not acknowledge us at all. We walked out. Pretty un-impressed.

Our party of five ate at the Post Office on a warm summer night in Clyde, and we were able to take advantage of the lovely outdoor seating area in the back of the restaurant. The menu is extensive and offers something for every taste and budget, and plenty of excellent gluten-free options. I took advantage of this and had the bruschetta salad stack on gluten-free bread with venison and blue cheese. It was delicious. Others enjoyed roast pork belly, chicken and venison sausages. The service was relaxed and unobtrusive. Not a place to come if you are in a hurry, but perfect for a leisurely meal and dessert/coffee. An absolutely fantastic evening.

Opinionated staff, average food that takes ages to arrive from ordering. Not very tourist friendly either. Shame as the decor is nice.
