Have been there 5 times or so and have found the food to be good but coffee lacking in kick.

We too were asked to leave due to having children with us. The owner (a lady) was extremely rude to both us and our children. My 2 year old did make a loud noise, but I immediately picked her up and took her outside to ‘sort herself out’ then as we were going back in, the group we were with were coming out. They were told “I think you should just leave” because of my daughter…. I couldn’t believe it, we were only in there about 2 mintues, and the cafe was almost empty!!! I go to cafes with my children every week and I had NEVER been treated like this. I was so shocked, I have told many friends about it and found out there are other friends of ours too that this has happened to at this cafe (and only this cafe). I would much rather hear a child playing (or even crying) than an older lady being absolutely rude to children, there is just no need for it.

Robin… Im sorry but that is a load of rubbish. Our children were not yelling and jumping all over the couches upsetting costumers as you try to make out (you are just trying to cover your selves in a bad situation). They were sitting and talking as EVERY human being has the right to do, your partner was the one who rasied her voice at us! She was outright rude as we walked in the door (I’m guessing because we had kids with us). I WAS dealing with my child, I immediately took her out of the cafe. We were there only about 2 minutes and didn’t even get to see the menu. To say we are the first ones ever to be asked to leave is a total load of rubbish… I’m sure ourselves and the family with Brylee are just the tip of the ice berg. There are many people who have been treated rudely in your cafe due to having kids… just go to http://www.bayofplenty… and look at the responses to the article about you in the Bay of Plenty times newspaper. At Providores they call children “Little Monsters” and have a sign on the wall telling you to buy take-out coffee and go to the park if you have children with you….seriously?!?!

You missed the part about your kids running into the cafe yelling & proceeding to climb and jump all over our couch and chairs. You did not take your daughter outside straight away as she had a loud melt down as I came out of the kitchen to see what all the noise…

Very Very Poor!!! The parents of a one year old baby were told to take their child outside for making too much noise. The baby was happy and just being a typical baby. This was done by the chef who also happens to be the owner. He then yelled out abuse to the father from the back of the cafe. A very bad look!!If you love children do not eat or drink here. The coffee was very average as well.

A not very factual account of the incident. It was my partner not I who spoke to Mr Nicholson after a customer comment (to quote Mr N.” Brylee was not screaming or crying but yelling”). Mr N. then came over to the kitchen and started a tirade at me to which I…

Everything from the daily fresh baked breads, imported meats/cheese to the vast selection in the case are tasty. The staff is well trained, friendly and have always deliver a high quality product. A foodie’s delight if creating a picnic hamper too. Plenty of room for large groups and families.
