Our group, four adults and two teenagers went to this bar to watch the Rugby and to have dinner during the Easter Weekend. We sat in the resturant; our first mistake was moving the chairs to face the tv, the waitress asked us to put the chairs back where they belonged. Two of our party ordered the scallops off the main menu @ $24 per meal, the others all ordered a bowl of chips with gravy from the bar snack menu. We were told we couldn’t order bar snacks and sit in the resturant with the others who wanted the scallops, so declined dining and were told to move. We seated at one of three bar leaners to watch the rugby and proceeded to order the bar snacks and the scallops. We were then told we couldn’t order off the main menu and eat in the bar as we were not seated at the correct bar leaner…..wot the??? I told the owner how rediculous his rules were and the loss of revenue to his business as we chose not to dine, he was exceptionally rude and replied smuggly, ‘that’s your choice’.
While this man poured our drinks, he spoke rudely to one of his staff in front of us. His manner was demeaning.
How can this man run a business and expect it to be a success with such an attitude towards the punters who patrinise his establishment.
Prior to us leaving I told him how disappointed we were, he said, ‘if you don’t like it then you can bloody well leave’. This man needs to learn some customer service skills and learn how to respect his staff.

Went for few drinks and a meal. Great atmosphere. We sat and had a few drinks by the fire on the leather couches then we were shown to our table, we had a great meal.Awesome steaks.Staff looked after us well. A nice Speight’s bar.

Went for a drink with some friends & ended up walking out. The place was full of old guys & fulton hogan workers & this is obviously the customer base they prefer, as being a group of young ladies we got completely ignored to the point we just decided to not bother. If you are after outgoing & friendly bartenders & staff don’t come here.
The meal was OK but the services by all but one staff member was extremely rude.
My father left earlier due to the reception they received before we arrived and went to another pub for a feed.
They wouldn’t provide they kids with a jug of raspberry and coke to share.
The toilets had a sign up that there was a ten cent charge on it and when the kids asked to use the toilet that got told to f–k off.
We had to pay as a group and weren’t able to split the charges.
To top it off they denied that we had shown our motel keys for a 15% discount. Then rung our motels to inform them off the incident. The list could go on but if you go you will find out for yourselves.

Did you eat at this restaurant? Have an opinion to share?

So not only did they not get the $50 – $60 we would have spent on lunch but now after reading these awful reviews many more people hopefully won’t go and give them their money either.
Take our advice and go somewhere else, anywhere else!
