Yes I agree with all of the above, nice decor but slack service, particular in the restaurant. The staff could do with taking a customer service course and the owner (Who I dealt with ) should learn some PR if she wishes to hold on to customers!

I am writing on behalf of a very close friend who dined at the above restaurant yesterday 8/5/12 for a birthday celebration.. the food enjoyable; overhearing verbal (rude)comments about themselves from staff and watching the chef lick fingers while preparing their dessert was not the highlight of their evening and it goes without saying they will not be going back. A shame, as they live locally as I do and that is a thumbs down from me also and I will write to Hosts/Owners of the restaurant as this behaviour is unacceptable when people pay good money for a night out and a good meal. It is just as well there are good restaurants still here in Halswell.

I ordered the garlic prawns and it was the most disappointing meal I have had in a long time. The meal took ages to come out. Prawns were still in the shell (with heads on) only one napkin was given – no dipping bowl. And the salad was just pathetic, it had no vinagerette dressing. Was definately not worth the money I paid for it.

The place has got nice decor& a warm fire for those cold winter days& nights… Shame about the slack service & long waiting periods for mealsto arrive.
Used to go there for a drink regularly just dont get served by PAM!! never happy in her work & always grumpy,quite rude towards patrons
