I have booked a place in advance , but they forgot to reserve luckily they managed to give us a table 10 min later.

the food was quit bad
we ordered medium and medium rare steak but it came very well and total well done. we very hungry of all the waiting that we ate it any way but we had to struggle with cutting and chewing. the desert “apple crumble” was very bad – there was no crumble. the apples were almost raw and sour there was a dust of bran no real crumble, it was so bad that I left mine almost whole only tasted a bit . The service was very slow

Had a really enjoyable pub grub meal at The QL tonight. Prices are great, between $16-26 and really yummy food. Had stayed away from the place due to reading bad reviews but wanted to share my opinion. Now, I must mention it’s not going to blow your minds with unique gastronomical fare, but if your after a good pub grub style meal, this is the place. Opted for veggy burgers, fish and chips, Greek salad and pork fillet at our table and everyone was happy and cleaned their plates. Thank you, we will be back! :0)

WE WOULD DEFINATLY GO AGAIN!!! Decided to try for the first time as we recently moved to the area. Had the sausages and potatoes, the oven cooked pork and the kids had the kiddies pan fried fish. Food was so tasty that kids ate in record time without having to tell them to keep eating, they even forgot about the colouring they had started before their meals.
Service was great which we sometimes find hard to get. The staff interacted with our children and brought them colouring and told them it would be entered into a competition. The food was quick considering how busy it was in the restaurant section and with people eating in the bar area aswell.

dropped in for lunch; was pleased with the meal selection. service was great, food came out fast and was good. would definitely go back.

We’ve eaten here a few times and always found food to be good quality, with generous portions and priced competitively. Service has always been efficient and friendly. Only the limited dessert menu prevents my giving five stars.

don’t bother going to eat. I cannot understand how a resturant of this calibre can continue serving food in Karori. just went for a drink & bar snack of ‘wedges’. The plate they were served on was so hot it burnt my finger… The “waiter” should’ve mentioned the hot plate.. and when bought to his attention he shrugged.. was not concerned. Give this place a miss unless you want bad service

The above reviewer must of had a bad night, have been there 3 times in 3 weeks and am always tempted to go back sooner rather than later. Top service, great prices and great food.

We went for a repeat of last weeks great service on Thursday. Unfortunately, the grumpy little girl in charge has seemed to forgotten that customers pay her wages. After telling us she would come to our table to take our order, we never saw her again. 20mins later, we went to the bar to order the food ourselves. Our main took over 30mins to come out. Possibly an hour. After paying for FAR too many drinks to pass the time the food came out, and it was good. It’s just a shame we saw 2 tables walk out while we were the only ones eating. If the bar staff had nothing to do – they could have been helping out in the kitchen. No apology, no discount, and no thank you for coming in. Unbelievable.
