on holiday from the uk x called in for coffee and cake and both delicious x cake obviously home made and coffee fresh x x staff friendly without being overbearing! came back for lunch had steak sandwich which came with chips and a smoothie x all delicious x x
Came here on my first visit to Cambridge. Disappointing, we waited 20min for the coffee, but by the time our chips and lasagne (microwaved from the counter) came out, we’d been waiting 45min! During which time we asked 3 times if our food was coming and we got “um we’re quite busy’. No apology, nothing. The only reason I’d come back would be for a game of “let’s see how long it takes this time”
Been here a couple of times.. The first time I was not impressed but there must of been a change in staff.
The food menu and service has improved dramatically… Worth a visit..

We went here for lunch on Saturday 18 April, while visiting family. Extremely disappointing, overpriced food with indifferent staff. The most disappointing part – $13 “nachos” which was a plate of corn chips with a bit of cheese, guacamole and sour cream. We have family living in Cambridge so we eat out here a lot – we will not be eating here again

Sorry to hear about your bad experience 2 years ago we have taken the business over and would hope you will notice a difference for the better Thanks Sue
We visited Rata Cafe recently for an early morning coffee and cake.
The cake was yum and delivered with a choice of yoghurt or cream. In fact it was so good that I barely got any – my personal taste-tester decided that she would just carry on eating it. The coffees were also really good. Good strength and nice and hot.
