Nice building and surroundings, think maybe having won an award the staff are a little big headed! the food was good, service nothing out of the ordinary. personally think the prices are a little big headed too. had just as good a meal with friendlier staff at Gramado’s @ 74 Main Street for less stress on the wallet.

Lovely atmosphere – one of the few places opened on a sunday night. The seafood pasta was delicious. My friends had the lamb and the steak and it was beautifully prepared.

Was not as fortunate as the other reviewers to have a great dining experience.
I think maybe that the Chef needs to upskill in the area of seafood dishes?
I ordered an ice chocolate that had to be taken back and got a replacement as the first one tasted very strange.
First up was a seafood chowder, which looked more like a seafood soup. Watery and dull, a few feeble mussels to be found after much whisking around the bowl for them.
Then a seafood platter which was THE most confusing dish I have had in my life!
First impression was the bulk of lettuce in the middle of the dish that nearly pushed everything else off! I didn’t even bother touching it as I asked for a seafood platter, not a bowl of lettuce.
A small arrangement of mussels, some prawns that were obviously just out of the packet in the freezer, and definitely not fresh.
Then fanned APPLE?!?!? Along with crackers, pate and a whole bunch of odds n ends that didn’t resemble seafood.
We were literally nearly in hysterics at the table.
Luckily we were saved by a quaint little restaurant the next day in Picton, “Koru”, which gave us the most amazing seafood chowder I have ever tasted.
I have a feeling that maybe if we had tried for something more mainstream we would have gotten a better result.
But that means that the chef should maybe broaden his/her horizons….

Been here 3 times and always found it consistently excellent. The first time we arrived at opening time drenched after a nights rainy camping when we had to abandon our campsite due to flooding. The staff cheerfully helped us dry out wet gear and served a life saving hot breakfast. Not surprisingly we returned , this time under drier circumstances, and have found on both occasions an inventive, well presented and delicious breakfast from a menu with plenty of choice.

Pros:
Ample seating, wonderful setting/atmosphere, good cafe/lunch food, good service.
Cons:
Overpriced dinner meals (ie. pay for fresh food when pre-prepared/frozen food is served), lack of flexibility and variety with menu options.
Overall: good building and surroundings, good for lunch, but the few dinner meals on offer are overpriced for what they are.

I love Raupo. Its consistently good, and Ive never had a meal their I didn’t like. The staff are friendly, the meals are tasty and the ambience is great. Not to mention great coffee which is served witha a yummy little ginger biscuit. Hands down, best restaurant in Blenheim. They need one in Nelson!!

This is not the first time we have hosted visitors to the region and taken them to Raupo Riverside Cafe. As this particular dinner was a mixture of business and pleasure it was a comforting thought to know that the dining part was taken care of! We had a great location, a fantastic meal and a lovely evening. Always a fresh seasonal menu with great variety & a good wine list. Favourite is a hard pick between the pate with chutney or dessert which was pear and blue cheese tart…

The ambience of this place is amazing, fantastic chairs and table to make a comfortable environment which ads to a great experience. The service was attentive though food very disappointing.

Best restaurant in Blenheim, whether you are after a coffee or a meal. Great setting, good service, very stylish decor. They had a few teething problems initially but that’s all sorted out. Highly recommended.

Really good food. Seating indoors and outdoors. Nice outlook over the river and fountain. Good service too. Worth finding. Walk from the information centre or park at the restaurant.
