We have been here 3 or 4 times over the past 12 months and the food has been excellent on all occasions. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and very helpful when advising on the extensive menu dishes. Plenty of free parking is a bonus too. I travel from Onehunga to be here – it’s worth the drive !

Went Saturday night with a voucher wondering if we would be treated as second class after reading the reviews here. But no-the staff were polite and caring and the food arrived just when we wanted it. No problem with the included beer being a Kingfisher and Settler’s Hill wine. No problem either taking away what we didn’t eat. All the food was delicious and the choice of curry was a little different from the usual Indian and there was plenty of meat & prawns in the curry. One friend wanted medium to hot and it was delivered as they liked it- my husband likes mild and he got that too. We will be going back with other friends. Only a small charge for corkage on top of that. A really nice atmosphere with helpful staff who served good food in a timely fashion.

The curry’s good though the platter was a little messy. The staffs were fine and nice but the man in charge was rude. We had a big group and called in to make reservation, the resturant was still empty because it has just open for the dinner hour. Imagine my surprise when we were made to sit in the table next to the main door and being odd numbered, they’ve arranged the extra chair at the end of the long table right in the door opening. Customers will have to walk past us to get through into the resturant. I asked the person in charge to change our table and he asked me what is wrong with that seat?! After we were given another table, an elderly couple came in with their grandchild. They made to sit in a tight corner against the drink fridge in a table for 2 with the extra chair along the bar counter entrance! After noticing that we were the only 2 groups in the resturant, the elderly couple asked to change their table too. I prefer the Raviz in Ellerslie, smaller but so much friendlier.

A hard review to write. We have been regulars here since it first opened and have always recommended to our friends and family, many of whom have also become regulars.
The food has always been outstanding, by far the best Indian food we have ever had, and we’ve had a lot!
Up until recently the service has always been wonderful, friendly and warm. Now the original woman and man are no longer there (evidently they oversee all the branches ). The man who is now the maitre de is rude and very arrogant. Such a shame! Our extended family have found the same over the past few months.
We will remain loyal because the food is so good, but we strongly suggest the owners look into this as the reputation of Ravis seems to be going downhill due to one man who could do with some lessons in hospitality.

When we were new to the area we tried all the Indian restaurants and after our first experience at Raviz’s we have never tried another local one. We have never had a bad meal in the 20+ times we have visited. The Beef Madras, Chicken Tikka and Garlic Naan’s are simply outstanding.

I will be the first to admit that almost all indian restaurants in NZ have a very common undertone in the taste of the dishes. However this one has always given me fond memories for the very good service on every single occassion.

They have willingly accommodated us in comfortable settings even if the restaurant is packed. The food is well prepared and has a huge variety on the menu.

THis is the best Indian Restaurant in our area. We love Raviz so much. The food is brilliant and very reasonably priced. Takeaways are great too. Their naan bread is the best ever. Very family friendly, we often take our young children here and they love it as much as we do.

I have eaten at other Raviz branches before, and found that this one wasn’t as good as the others. The place is nice, but the butter chicken was quite bland – even though we asked for mild, but it just didn’t have much taste, it wasn’t very sweet at all. And the naans were ok, but I’ve had much better naans at other Indian restaurants. Overall an ok experience.
