Really disappointed as this is our local…we found only 5 pieces of paneer in our paneer makhani, floating around in a mass of just sauce, same with the rest of the paneer dishes, and half a chicken was more like a quaisrter……food here is potluck….however we will not be risking it again…..we did call them, we are still waiting for a reply!

We had been regular customers of Ravis for over a year. Tonight unfortunately was one of the worst experiences we have ever had in a restaurant. We made a booking for 5 people and when we arrived were moved upstairs and were forgotten. After sometime we decided to help ourselves to menus left on another table. About 15 minutes later a male waiter came up to the area and we asked if we could order drinks. The drinks were bought over to us randomly over a fifteen minute period, with reminders from us about the beer and wine. After 40 minutes at the restaurant and still waiting for a drink we asked if we could order. The male waiter said I spose and proceeded to take our order. An hour later we received our mains and although they were cooked well, no one wants to wait that long, especially when the restaurant is quiet and the service poor. After eating ….
We signalled to the waitress to get her attention and after her looking at us and ignoring us twice, we picked up our dishes and proceeded to the counter downstairs. The manager was very embarrassed, as were we and we then informed him that the service today was unacceptable. He wanted to discuss this with us but all we wanted to do was to pay the bill in full and leave. The service has gone from good to okay to terrible. Sort it out Ravis!!

Raviz Whangaparaoa used to be one of my favourite places to visit for dinner. The customer service was shocking when we visited on Friday night (2nd Nov 2012), the cleanliness of the bathroom left ALOT to be desired and being “lectured” about the dishes we were ordering was just plain rude. It took 20mins for the wine glasses to arrive, when they did they were filthy. Two other couples had arrived whilst we were sitting waiting, both immediately getting their glassware… pretty unfair, not to mention receiving their “starter” platter before us also who had now been sitting there for 40mins! Not sure if it was because we had a deal voucher, or because we had two (very well behaved!) kids with us… but we were treated like second rate citizens that night. To be fair, the food was good as it usually is, and there was certainly was enough of it to feed us all with the addition of a kids menu item or two which we paid for in addition to using the voucher. Perhaps since introducing the deal vouchers they have gone a bit sour on it, there was no where near enough staff on waiting wise for a Friday evening and the restaurant on a whole was dirty, lacking in customer service, dirty glassware and dirty plates arrived to our table (two of which were replaced instantly thank goodness). Overall, we won’t be going back… and I certainly won’t be recommending Raviz Whangaparaoa again to anyone.
Ordered a couple of meals to be delivered, the staff member that took the order said half an hour to forty five minutes, called again after it had not shown up after one hour and was told it should be there in five to ten minutes, after another two calls the meals turned up one hour and forty five minutes later and it was the wrong order. Meals were average, the only good part of the meal was the naan bread. These people have no concept of customer service or time. Then to top it off they charged my credit card twice two weeks apart, may have been an accident but may be credit card fraud. I will never get anything from this place again and strongly suggest that anyone paying by credit card checks their statements thoroughly!
I would just like to add another point, when we called to request a refund they were very apologetic and promised a refund into our account, that was two months ago and we are still waiting. The disturbing thing is that they sounded like they had the apology memorised, I would say that it wasn’t the first time they had been caught out ripping people off.

I had the misfortune of going to Raviz in Whangaparaoa on Saturday 19/11/2011 to treat my friend to a so called great meal. (Take away) We ordered a wide range from cream mushrooms to tandoori chicken fried rice. This was a very expensive meal $55 for me and was meant to be a treat for my friend. I was blown away with firstly it was all apart from the rice wrapped you in tin foil which when i got home was all over the place. However this didn’t matter as the food was cold apart from the rice which i must say was the best part of the meal but at $14.50 for a tub of rice was somewhat dear. The mushrooms were in batter and we had some veges, also in batter that were not fresh and had been microwaved. The Naan bread was not made fresh as it was soggy, microwaved and like rubber. My friend and my self were very disappointed at a very tasteless, cold and overpriced meal.

Went for tea on Sat night with my partner, we really enjoyed our meal, the only reason we tried it is we had a deal voucher and my partner had never had Indian food before… we loved it, friendly staff and lovely food, the only bad part was that I didn’t know about Raviz earlier!!! The portions are generous and I’m looking forward to my leftovers for lunch. We will be back, and have planned out next visit in a couple of weeks, thank you Raviz!

These guys are great. We go almost weekly on our ‘date night’ and have never been disappointed. Every now and then the wait can be a little long but the food is always great and Uday and the staff are fantastic!

We have been enjoying the food at Raviz since it opened. There is a lot more variety than at the other local Indian Restaurants. I like to see dishes on Indian Menus that are other than the run of the mill that you typically get everywhere.
Last week we invited 40 friends to celebrate our son’s birthday. The upstairs at Raviz was the perfect venue. The staff were very accommodating to my requests and could not have been more helpful.
