Absolutely disgusted with the takeaways purchased from the Ellerslie branch on Sunday night, bought 2 curries, one tikka masala and the other butter chicken.
The butter chicken contained 6 pieces of chicken, and the tikka masala a measly 4. Absolutely ridiculous to pay $30 odd dollars for ten pieces of chicken!
Have emailed their contact email on their website to complain but have yet to have a reply…
Would not recommend to anyone, what a rip off!!!
Even the Indian places at the malls have better food, not what you expect when you are paying top dollar.
On top of that the staff were rude to me when I placed the order in person.
Again would not recommend – definitely double think going here!!!!

Visited this restaurant again and was very disappointed.
Basically from the moment we sat down.
We were using a voucher which i purchased online. No sooner than the staff knew the mixed platter was ontop of us probably not even 5 mins after sitting down. No drinks were given at that stage, nor any menus. No condiments with the mixed platter either we asked for them and our drinks which both came by the time the platter was finished. The staff were very in your face and basically a complete pest.
Once the platter was finished we were asked what we wanted for our main. Again they were told we had not even been given menus!
We got the menus and I don’t think a minute had passed and we were asked what we wanted we asked for a bit more time the staff member walked away and then sent another one over.
At the end of the day the food was also very bland and flavourless, really gone downhill. I will not be going back there and even if it does seem like good value using a voucher having rude staff and less than average food doesn’t make it worthwhile…

I live in Ponsonby and I have been to four curry places in the immediate area at least three times each. I have to say Raviz is the best. The others are ok but when it comes to depth of flavor Raviz consistently wins that one, and their vindaloo is no match for the others, really amazing flavors in that whereas the other seem to skimp on the spices perhaps, also has a really dark color compared to the more reddish color at the other joints.

We used to go to Punjab Palace, and unbeknown to us Ravis had taken it over as we called for takeaway and noting was said. I turned up to collect and twigged it wasn’t the same.
The quality was noticeabley down ( chewy meat, watery sauces )
Wouldn’t go back, and the fact they did’t identify they had taken it over was disappointing, although indicative of a chain type operation.

I took my family out to lunch at Raviz today as I had a voucher, and what a wonderful experience we had! The place is beautiful and clean, and the service friendly. Aside the fact that we had a voucher, they were also running a $10 lunch special, so it is very affordable and excellent value for money! All four mains were absolutely delicious (one of the best butter chickens I’ve had), as well as the naan breads which were FANTASTIC! I totally recommend the garlic and the cheese naans, they are really great. And last but most certainly not least, the desserts were DELICIOUS. They had three different traditional Indian desserts on the menu and we tried all three of them – absolutely fantastic. I am totally happy to recommend this restaurant, and I can’t wait to go back! AA++++
