Red Brick Kitchen and Bar is a small but perfectly formed restaurant and bar, offering dining in the restaurant or bar. Plus on weekdays, a cafe also operates within the premises with the sumptuous Red Brick Cafe menu, superb coffee – have-in or takeaway, takeaway counter food, and of course the covered, heated courtyard.

The Restaurant menu reflects great New Zealand seasonal produce. The menu changes often to keep our regulars coming back and to make sure we always serve you seasonal produce. In addition to the restaurant menu we serve tapas and platters in the cosy bar, great for sharing with friends with a glass of wine or two.

The wine list is predominantly sourced from within New Zealand and has many choices by the glass or decanter .

We have a covered heated courtyard where you can enjoy a great glass of wine from our hand picked wine list or a cocktail or beer

Red Brick Parnell has a relaxed casual environment, we offer you a friendly welcome and attentive service, hope to see you soon at Red Brick Kitchen and Bar.

My god, their food is heavenly!! Ok, I haven’t tried their fish yet, so I can’t comment on that, but their lamb and venison dishes are superb! You can tell they use quality/fresh ingredients and know how to cook meat to perfection. Way to go Red Brick, thank you for changing the Parnell restaurant scene for better!!

What a great night out with friends. We used our Grab One voucher and were so pleased we purchased this one!!!! Great service and the menu offered a lot of choice. All of us had different choices and they were all praised for presentation and taste. Save some room for their desserts – well worth it! This place offers great food – ok not fine dining but great food at a good price :) We will be back – thanks again

We have also had a grab one voucher to use. we ordered fish of the day kingfish for $29.5 and duck leg confit for $33.and a brownie sandwich for $17. I need to mention the duck leg dish particularly. there was a duck leg of the size 6 or 7 and some potato slices and grating sauce. I was shocked to see such a dish charged for $33. in that price range, any restaurant can do way better. the duck was not hot enough or the plate was not pre warmed.the presentation was pale, ingredients were cheap. the taste was just ok, it will not make you feel awful definitely not satisfying at all.
as for the king fish, there were 2 fillets and rice was used as base. put it in a few words, cheap ingredients and really pricy.
I need to mention that the environment and atmosphere were really good. in my opinion, the memus will need to be re designed and the price and the quality of the food do not match.

Everyone gives 5 stars – so I feel myself a bit awkward :)

Nevertheless. We bought a deal from TreatMe: $20 for $50. One voucher per table – can’t save too much :) .

Prices at Red Brick are high enough – the voucher didn’t cover even two hot meals. I’d say that wine is a bit more expensive than in other places. But was good.

We ordered fish of the day. Tuna. It was good. Enough. Honestly, I didn’t like it: it was neither raw, nor cooked enough, not juicy enough… Definitely, I had better one. Tuna came with vegetables. Probably because it’s winter outside, quantity was negligibly small. All fit under a piece of tuna :) .For a meal on this price I’d expect a bit more.

Service was excellent. Too excellent. Waitresses interrupted us too often asking if we needed something. We didn’t!

It was a bit noisy from a bar area. But the atmosphere was good enough and very friendly.

Toilets are very average. I’d expect better for the level of the restaurant. E.g., towels… As a matter of fact, even an electric hand dryer didn’t work. In both cabins… Or I didn’t find a magic switch. And my partner too. And no even paper towels…

The overall feeling was a light dissatisfaction.

We also went using a Grab One vochure. The food was superb

The three of us all agreed it was the best meal we had had for years

Fabulous decor as well and the parking was plentiful – a rarity in Parnell usually

We went to red brick having bought a Grab One voucher. Whilst we could not book a table in the last few days of the offer (completely full), we were invited to dine there in the following two weeks and have the price of the voucher redeemed, which went beyond what they had to do.
The menu was small but varied, which I always take as a good sign: more likely to have fresh produce and higher quality meals.
My dining partner had the salt and pepper squid entree and I chose the crayfish Bisque: both dishes were superbly cooked with ideal seasoning, and of very generous size for starters.
Our mains were the fish of the day and I had the venison in blueberry jus with a red wine poached pear and potato croquettes.
The fish was very well cooked and the dish well balanced in flavour. My venison was maybe a tad overcooked but the meat itself was very soft and juicy, and the flavours combined wonderfully, especially when including the wine recommended by the somellier.
For pudding, my SO chose her signature dish: tiramisu, which was rated as a very close second best in NZ. I had the chocolate assortment assiette, which was four dark chocolate truffles with assorted coverings. Very intense chocolate taste (which I love) balanced with some blueberries and very nice shortbread.
The service was excellent, friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
We would definitely come here again.

excellent ambience, nice and quiet in the dining area. best thing is you hardly hear the noise from the bar area.

they keep to a selected menu which i think is a good way to produce EXCELLENT quality food.

every slice of meat was so succulent. well worth the price you pay for.

i will defintely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the taste of great food and very professional yet friendly staffs.

kudos to all at red brick

Came in on Friday night largely because I had bought a voucher which gave us a discount. What a treasure of a place! Loved the ambience of the building, and the views of the sinking sun – food was top knotch, plenty of wines were available not only by the glass but also in several other decanted sizes which gave more flexibility. The staff were friendly – one waitress in particular was outstanding and the Sommelier was fab – recommending dessert wines to go with both our cheese course and desserts. We had a very enjoyable evening and will not hesitate to return soon!
