Red Brick Kitchen and Bar is a small but perfectly formed restaurant and bar, offering dining in the restaurant or bar. Plus on weekdays, a cafe also operates within the premises with the sumptuous Red Brick Cafe menu, superb coffee – have-in or takeaway, takeaway counter food, and of course the covered, heated courtyard.
The Restaurant menu reflects great New Zealand seasonal produce. The menu changes often to keep our regulars coming back and to make sure we always serve you seasonal produce. In addition to the restaurant menu we serve tapas and platters in the cosy bar, great for sharing with friends with a glass of wine or two.
The wine list is predominantly sourced from within New Zealand and has many choices by the glass or decanter .
We have a covered heated courtyard where you can enjoy a great glass of wine from our hand picked wine list or a cocktail or beer
Red Brick Parnell has a relaxed casual environment, we offer you a friendly welcome and attentive service, hope to see you soon at Red Brick Kitchen and Bar.

as for the king fish, there were 2 fillets and rice was used as base. put it in a few words, cheap ingredients and really pricy.
I need to mention that the environment and atmosphere were really good. in my opinion, the memus will need to be re designed and the price and the quality of the food do not match.

Nevertheless. We bought a deal from TreatMe: $20 for $50. One voucher per table – can’t save too much
Prices at Red Brick are high enough – the voucher didn’t cover even two hot meals. I’d say that wine is a bit more expensive than in other places. But was good.
We ordered fish of the day. Tuna. It was good. Enough. Honestly, I didn’t like it: it was neither raw, nor cooked enough, not juicy enough… Definitely, I had better one. Tuna came with vegetables. Probably because it’s winter outside, quantity was negligibly small. All fit under a piece of tuna
Service was excellent. Too excellent. Waitresses interrupted us too often asking if we needed something. We didn’t!
It was a bit noisy from a bar area. But the atmosphere was good enough and very friendly.
Toilets are very average. I’d expect better for the level of the restaurant. E.g., towels… As a matter of fact, even an electric hand dryer didn’t work. In both cabins… Or I didn’t find a magic switch. And my partner too. And no even paper towels…
The overall feeling was a light dissatisfaction.

The three of us all agreed it was the best meal we had had for years
Fabulous decor as well and the parking was plentiful – a rarity in Parnell usually
The menu was small but varied, which I always take as a good sign: more likely to have fresh produce and higher quality meals.
My dining partner had the salt and pepper squid entree and I chose the crayfish Bisque: both dishes were superbly cooked with ideal seasoning, and of very generous size for starters.
Our mains were the fish of the day and I had the venison in blueberry jus with a red wine poached pear and potato croquettes.
The fish was very well cooked and the dish well balanced in flavour. My venison was maybe a tad overcooked but the meat itself was very soft and juicy, and the flavours combined wonderfully, especially when including the wine recommended by the somellier.
For pudding, my SO chose her signature dish: tiramisu, which was rated as a very close second best in NZ. I had the chocolate assortment assiette, which was four dark chocolate truffles with assorted coverings. Very intense chocolate taste (which I love) balanced with some blueberries and very nice shortbread.
The service was excellent, friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
We would definitely come here again.
