Went there for lunch with colleagues. One of us couldn’t have prawns so he asked the waitor if there was going to be prawns in won tons and was told no. When the dish arrived it turned out that there were prawns in the won tons so my colleague couldn’t enjoy them. When we informed the waitor, we didn’t receive any apologies or offer to change the order. All he said was “the food is already ordered we can’t change it”. At the counter upon paying we also informed the cashier who said he will speak to the waitor involved without an apology.

Other negative experiences with service included waitress throwing cutlery across the table to us while serving and cashier shouting to interrupt our conversation to prompt us to pay. The value for the food is the only reason I would go back.

Food was reasonably priced, but we expected it to be more hong kong-themed dishes (cheese-baked rice). Not as tasty , but the warm and relaxed atmosphere makes up for it, I guess.

Perfect prices for the perfect food! This is what I WANT out of a Chinese restaurant: flavoursome BBQ pork, perfectly cooked noodles with the perfect amount of saltiness to the soup; flavour was just right in everything I had! I like how they have incorporated western food into their menu too like baked oysters/muscles for appetisers (which were perfect too) and simple toasties! Coffee and tea were available (which they made to perfection again) as well as varying desserts for everybody. I was pleasantly surprised about such high quality food for such a low price! I would recommend to all and I will visiting again (many times) in the future. =)

This place is great! Had a hankering for some noodles after recently coming back from South East Asia and found this place just off Queen St by NZ Post (entrance is on Wyndham St).. Ordered the wide rice noodles and they were delicious! Enormous serving that was enough for two meals. Very friendly & helpful staff – I’ll definitely be going back

Really nice food. Efficient service. I recommend the long prawn rolls and the chicken with cashew nuts on rice.
