My family has frequented Reuben dozens of times and have always had an enjoyable experience. We have frequently met friends and colleagues there as well as the extended family and they have always had a positive experience there as well.

We always receive a warm welcome and have observed the same for others visiting Reuben.

The food on our table has always been of the highest quality and we appreciate the wide choice including the all-day breakfast. The menu hasn’t changed in years; it works well. We have never had a coffee / chai that is less than hot.

We like the sound of the nearby water feature in Khartoum Place and the added peaceful atmosphere created by the overhanging trees. We appreciate the fact that sometimes there is no music and when there is, it is at a low volume.

Needless to say, it is one of our favourite cafes, even compared with those we have visited in Europe, Australia and elsewhere.

Really surprised by the bad reviews below. Yes it is run by Asian people which is why I was genuinely surprised the food was so good. I have had breakfast here several times and it has always been excellent. I usually go the full and everything is great. Perfectly cooked, fresh and best of all virtually no fat at all!! OJ and coffee also very good.
I’ve only had lunch there once…It was t lamb harissa salad and was also very good.
Place is clean, decor nice and neutral. Staff very pleasant.
On;y slight negative is a lack of atmosphere which could probably be fixed with a little music…

Found Reuben on a city excursion to the art gallery. Well priced food, excellent service and good coffee (an extra shot offered for free!) Nothing fancy about eating here but it was lovely sitting on the balcony listening to the waterfall and watching the world go by.

Bad bad service. The pancake was uncooked and tasted disgusting, so I asked the owner about it at the counter. He said that their pancake is fine, charged me the full price, and burped at me on purpose as he gave me the receipt!

Shocking!!!
Summed up like this
Bad service
Terrible food
need I say more?
Oh, the magazines, terrible, only free “Ponsonby news” and 3 year old New Idea’s.
He insisted on micro-waving a sweet muffin as it was really old.
And he gives you a huge serving of butter with an iced cake? What the ?
And he screams at his poor wife who is working out back while he struts around out the front.

I’ve only ever had the coffee here and it is GOOD. But they need a loyalty card!

Very Bad Cafe, a Chinese couple are running this business, and their coffee are very bad and they don’t even know the difference between Cappuccino and Flat white. as I ordered a Flat white then got a Cappuccino indeed. What I say….
