Have been dropping in here for 2 years now. Always a friendly warm welcome. Menu choices wide enough & generous. Coffee lovely & HOT! Pity we’re too long in the tooth for the bike hire.
Best wishes.

Karen B, we moved into the village 10 months ago and feel this is a great asset to the village, lovely fresh food and very friendly staff. As a local we go down most weekends, this cafe is well worth a visit.

Have been out to Rhubarb several times for brunch. Menu remains the same since I started patronising the place but it is always good quality and value for money. Service is great. Love the decor. But I have learned to order tea not coffee.

Several month ago, my partner and I mountain biked the waikato river trails. The Rhubarb cafe was highly recommended by friends. We thoroughly enjoyed riding the trail, and unfortunately, we ended up arriving late at the cafe just after it closed. Riding back to our base camp, we decided to return the following morning for breakfast.
We were blown away with the friendly service and we had a beautiful breakfast. My partner, while on our adventure weekends, eats like a horse, and she ordered 2 items from the breakfast menu. She also loves her smoothies, and was not disappointed to find them on the menu.
We loved the decor and ended up having a look around the town.
We have recommended this cafe to many people, and this weekend, it is one of my son’s 17th birthday, and we will be riding the trails and the Rhubarb cafe is high on our priority list of things to do while we are away.

Fabulous cafe in the middle of Arapuni, walking distance to the amazing swing bridge. We drive there regularly from Cambridge for breakfast in the weekends or to drop in for an amazing coffee while out on a bike ride. Owners are friendly, warm and obliging in every way – real foodies! They’ve gone to no end of trouble to decorate this spotless, homely cafe in cool retro style, right down to the souvenir teaspoons! I notice on our last visit they have introduced a new smoothie – banana and blueberry – yum, will go down perfectly with the Kiwi Hamburger I’ll be trying next time – mustn’t miss the mince on toast with poached eggs, or the melt-in-the-mouth chocolate brownies – they’re HUGE! Just can’t recommend this spot highly enough!!

Awesome service, great atmosphere and staff and owners so friendly. Very helpful and can give info
on nearby Waikato River Trails.
Great place to have a cuppa (and a meal or snack) after the bike ride or after walking one of the local trails as we did. Lots of choice whether you want a little snack or a full meal. Love the fritata.

Having first eaten at the establishment about 5 months ago, I could not fault their customer service, however I think I should point out that my last visit only a few days ago will most certainly be my last, I have recently moved very close to arapuni and living on my own and having to drive past the place everyday to my place of work I called in for a coffee and a piece of toast, to my surprise the proprietor pointed to his menu and said the toasties are on there, I said any chance of just plain toast but for me unfortunately there was no chance of just coffee and plain toast.I would of paid up to $10 for my snack just so I could of memorized his menu for upcoming winter. His loss will not only be my custom but the 15+ employees of Holmes&Chitteck contracting next season.

Have visited Rhubarb at least 8 times since it opened. If you are visiting there for the first time you will love it but… I have found that the menu has not changed in the least since it has opened and am afraid to say my last visit left me flat. Nothing inspired me as its the same old stuff. Sorry guys you need to change your sweet selection as your slices and cakes are the same ones you had when I first visited (you had been open a month) You need new exciting cakes/slices as well as adding new dishes or maybe a couple of specials each week to keep the locals coming back. Your service is ok but having the same things all the time is getting a bit comfortable – try something new!!
