The atmosphere wasn’t much, decor a bit old fashioned but the food was amazing! Beijing duck, BBQ pork and pancakes, orange beef were all fabulous mains, the crispy prawns and dumplings were brilliant. Attentive and friendly staff, large meals and BYO….we’ve been 4 times and will go again

Was very happy with the place. It was my first time down to Wellington and the location is great as it is near Queensgate shopping centre. I personally like the chinese food they have and it is by far the best I have had in New Zealand restaurants. Overall I had a great time and stay.

I made a booking to stay at this hotel, when I arrived I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the place and left.
They have since charged my credit card on 2 separate occasions for an amount of $450.00.
I have called to try and resolve this and have been hung up on twice.
This hotel is a rip off merchant. I would think twice before giving them any credit card info

i often stay and eat at this hotel. the family who run it are very friendly and obliging, they don’t have any little kids so not sure about the other reviewers comments.
as a business person i frequent the riddiford monthly and have also held business dinners there.
the food is delicious and reasonably priced.
if you’re looking for an authentic chinese meal and some friendly hospitality, this is the place to be.

it is not worth a rating. I ate at this restaurant recently and it the worse restaurant I have ever been to. as there as a group booking of fifteen we got the same food it was a buffer The food was tasteless and got thing we did not like a hole big fish.the riddiford hotel family kids were running around and the grand mother we just looking at us if we were going to run away.like before the staff were rude to the point of being verbally abusive. that night we left a bag behind try to ring but could not get thought when we did the lady said no bag was Left. but rung back spoke to some different and said yes you left a bag behind. when we picked it up the lady said not you again Obviously this establishment does not give a hoot about their patrons. Quite frankly, I would not eat at this restaurant again. we come from out of town for a birthday and found this place does not care about people just want the money. one last thing we got over change for drinks the think they have to go back to school ever again.

I stay in Riddiford Hotel last week, and also had a dinner with fried. The food is very tasted, special Beijing Duck that was best one.

I’ve been forced to rate this restaurant because of the web-site set-up, but it does not deserve even 1/100th of a star.
I ate at this restaurant recently and it without doubt the worse restaurant I have ever been to. The food was tasteless and the staff were rude to the point of being verbally abusive. Complaints to the management about the behaviour of their staff basically fell on deaf ears. To top it off, one of the patrons got stuck in the lift even though another person was stuck in the same lift the day before. Obviously this establishment does not give a hoot about their patrons. Quite frankly, I would not eat at this restaurant again if it were the last restaurant on earth. I’d rather starve.
