Had an enjoyable family meal. Good menu options and the kids menu portion were decent size. Service was satisfactory, meals were served quickly which is appreciated when eating with kids.

Bought a couple of very expensive pizzas , Very very small for the price and uncooked. Dough was raw. Fries were ready 10 minutes earlier than the pizzas and were cold and fatty ,We had bought takeaways so did not realize they were uncooked until we got home.
Service pretty average, No friendly smiles. Not somewhere you would want to revisit.

Food is really nice at Rock Fire and I would be happy to visit more often. Their pizza is the best! Prices are also fantastic, and we were sure that we were charged the wrong price the first time we went.
The only problem I have is that they appear to be very random with their opening times. The sign on the door says 5:30, but we’ve been there a couple of times and they’ve been closed. We went there at 5:30 on a Sunday and the guy at the door said come back at 6:00. Sometimes they are open during the day and sometimes they’re not!

Well despite some bad reviews we really enjoyed our dining experience here on 6th March. The food was amazing, service was quick as it wasn’t too busy (6.45pm). I get what people mean about the grumpy waitress, she could definitely be more smiley – & perhaps ask how our meals were? But that didn’t over shadow our overall experience. I had the Kiwi burger with Beef and hubby had it with Chicken – both were really HUGE and YUM! The chips were amazing! The garlic bread entree was also delicious (we had to take it away as there was just too much food). This is a great place to eat

Simply the best in the past 12 months! The lamb rack is tender, juicy and flavor-loaded. It goes so well with the FREE pinot on the house. Stunning 5-star quality for the modest price! heyhey… And yes, the staff does give you proper attention so you and family are comfortable and more focused on enjoying the meal. The environment is nice, not too big neither small with a slight touch of urban and certainly family friendly. 5 stars!

Have been a few times here, and has usually been ok service. We liked it because burgers were a single entity on the menu, available without fries etc.. But our last visit in August was the worst ever. Burgers now part of a meal, which I could put up with but the poor service was inexcusable. A bored waitress kind of attended us. With long waits for the order to be taken and entrees to be served. It was not particularly busy either. Then we wanted dessert, but could we get served? No! The waitress avoided eye contact and just left us sat at the table and never approached us again to see if we wanted drinks/desserts or anything else. We just left in the end, bored of waiting! Will not be going again

After reading some of the reviews I was not sure making a booking for 16 people was one of my best ideas…especially not for Father’s Day! Well let me tell you this – we were pleasantly surprised! The food was fantastic and well worth the wait!! The ribs were a good portion and well cooked. The roast special was a real hit too! And service with a smile. Thank you Leigh and team – it was fantastic and we will definitely be back again!

I had read the reviews on this page and was a wee bit apprehensive about trying out the Rock Fire. But my word were we in for a surprise. The place was full and we had to wait for a table and not too long though. The owner Leigh was an absolute delight, she was warm and friendly and very welcoming. The food was presented beautifully, hot and so appetizing. Well guys if you do not enjoy your time at this place then I am sure u must be very hard to please. All round a great experience. Thank you to Leigh and her staff and we will definitely be frequent flyers.

Burgers and fries were really good, a decent amount of food for the price. Not extremely welcoming at first, but the service seemed to improve over the night. Nice quiet location, with lots of parking. Would definetely go back.

The pizza I had was terrible. The ham and bacon was full of gristle and very greasy. The woman in charge on the night ( probably in her 40′s or 50′s ) is very unwelcoming and rude. Her attitude toward customers leaves a lot to be desired. I see by other reviews patrons have had the same treatment from her. For the life of me I can not understand why they do not put her on some form of hospitality course as she is costing them business. Aside from that the actual waitress at our table smiled and offered friendly service.

It is frustrating how people come on this site to moan about a place, so people get the wrong idea! I bet there are 20 great experiences to every terrible one – as you would get anywhere!

We had a lovely date at Rock Fire on St Paddy’s Day. The place has sure improved with the ‘new’ owner (haven’t been there for 2 years – previous owner was not pleasant to say the least) – anyhooooo… we had a lovely time – great burgers and drinks. The TVs playing music videos gave us something extra to talk about too.

Wouldn’t give it 5 stars because they are reserved for Hilton Hotels and anything in Dubai! But overall, good experience at Rock Fire – and with the new cinemas opening in Howick, I’ll sure be going back there for date night!

We went out for a Birthday lunch and very disappointed in this restaurant. The customer service was a lot to be desired and we had to wait 1 hr 20 minutes for our meals to arrive at the table. Wouldn’t frequent this restaurant again. I went to ask to get a chair for my elderly mum as the bench seat wasn’t supportive enough and sad to say the response was luke warm to say the least. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Was dissapointed with the whole experience of rock fire, the customer service was shocking the burgers were over priced and severly burnt. Has changed in quality since mid last year. Sorry to say I wont be coming back as we could have had a really nice meal somewhere else with excpetional customer service for not nearly as much as we paid.

Went there last night with an entertainment book voucher and the woman serving refused to honour it saying “we’re not accepting them tonight, everything’s on special tonight”(which it wasn’t, the only thing on special we got were two beers). The food was ok nothing great but nothing terrible but based on the service I definitely won’t be going back.

Thanks for the reply Leigh. There are certain times in the conditions of use for the Entertainment Book vouchers where it states you can’t use them, Midnight Madness is NOT listed in these. There was no sign indicating vouchers were not being accepted that night and we were not told untl it cam etime to pay. I appreciate the fact that you had to put extra staff on etc, but that’s not the customer’s fault and I find it highly unprofessional for a business not to honour a voucher based on the fact that they are busy that night. As far as specials go, everything we got that night was full menu price except two beers which had $1.50 each off.

Pizza was nice but chicken salad was advertised with noodles and when questioned about where they were, was told that not many people liked it so they stopped putting it in! ( But didn’t take it off menu?) My friends said the steak was nice but one had a large piece of inedible gristly fat. Other meals weren’t special. We were a big group with 3 babies but it is hard to understand why people who came in and ordered after us were served well before us. So the ones with the babies had to gobble their food fast as it was 1 hour after we ordered that it was delivered. We arrived at 6.30 and while the drinks arrived in a timely fashion, the food ordering process was very slow. The main server didn’t smile and seemed only just able to cope. A couple of her quick ” throw away lines” I found actually quite offensive. No one asked if our meals were ok at any stage and the children’s meals were delivered without serviettes which took some persistence to get ( 10 mins!) Not a friendly place that I would want to come back to quickly.

I love the food, but the lady in charge is very rude and not very welcoming. On all the occasions I have been there, including my birthday, we were treated as if they were doing us a favour. When I ordered ‘chips’ I was corrected and told that they are called ‘fries’. On my birthday I was treated with contempt when 2 of our guests could not make it due to an emergency. It was a nightmare ordering. We were rushed and made to feel horrible that they had reserved two WHOLE extra seats. Not a fine dining experience, will not be going back there.

Don’t bother unless you like frozen fish and salad out of a packet. yes there is a new owner but she’s clueless on how to act with customers, asking for a highchair left her perplexed. She didn’t even bother to ask how meal was whilst grabbing my money, as I would have definitely let her know we would not be back. Yuk..

Fantastic Place. I go there at least once a week and have always been greeted with a smile and a friendly face. The food is delicious and I especially love the garlic pizza bread and samosas. Nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel very welcome. Top notch, and new owner brings a fresh, friendly face to this awesome place.

Had a really great lunch at Rock Fire. Its in a great location with plenty of parking. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, the service was prompt and efficient, the menu was easy to follow with lots of choices, and the food was great! The burger and fries I had were really filling and tasty. I didnt mind paying the bill one little bit – now its not often I say that! Well done team!

lovely night – friendly helpful service. delicious burgers and pizzas and pizza bread! the lamb chops looked really nice too! under new management and so the service was much improved from other peoples experience. good prices, good food and good company! fantastic night out! thanks heaps!

Petty average place with varied service as ours took ages but table next door was served straight away & told of the specials (we weren’t). Basic food with no imagination eg bacon & blue cheese salad was mesculin out of a bag, a couple slices of tomato (could have used cherry tomatoes at least) and poor quality bacon dumped on top (crisp steaky bacon would have been better). Ostrich burger had quite a bit of gristle in the patty. Pricing was ok for what is essentially a takeaway place with lots of tables.

Under new management and I found the whole experience excellent, never had so much topping on a Pizza! Great service, food, value and ambience, will definitely go back.
