Love the cakes, especially the Coconut Cranberry cake from 2006 – shame it has come off the menu
Great for gift ideas for Christmas, Mothers Day and birthdays

This place is great for catering.
Famous amongst office-workers throughout the CBD for their AMAZING cakes . . . People hang out for the next person’s office birthday shout to come along . . .

As a lunch deli, they have a really good variety of salads . . . you know – the usual yummy Ponsonby flavoured things like olives, feta, sundried tomatoes. That sort of thing . . .
And then plenty of other hot lunch options and yummy dessert treats.
Takeaway of course . . . as it’s a deli.

I had one bad experience here . . . where the lady serving told me that it was perfectly okay for me to eat brie or feta or any cheese I wanted during pregnancy because it’s all pasteurized in NZ. I’ve since learned that this is totally not the case. So I was pretty annoyed with this advice from an apparent ‘food professional’ given with such conviction. Then she also assured me it would be fine to eat the chicken dish if it was heated up properly. She tried 3 times to heat it up enough in the microwave . . . (I actually went back to the shop with it – as I was eating stone-cold chicken . . .and it was still cold when I eventually gave up after 3 warm-up attempts and chucked most of it out, fearing that I had poisoned my unborn baby!)

So beware the temperature of food you have heated on the premises.

Apart from that wee blot on their record, it’s still a great place for non-pregnant people to go for lunch!
