So good.
We pushed it to the limit with dessert though, I had the mars bar cheese cake, and hubby had the chocolate tart. It was stunning. But we ate way too much, and had trouble breathing.

They brought my friend the wrong drink. Minor, but a sign of things to come. The menu had no descriptions whatsoever e.g. gourmet burger, hashstack. When we asked we were told the burger was “a patty with salad” no idea what kind of meat, or what on earth made it gourmet.
I ordered the hash-stack after having probed and been told it was hashbrowns, bacon, egg, and a side salad. The hashbrowns were huge, and home made, but tasteless, and fell apart when you tried to eat them. There was no egg, but there was cheese, which I don’t like with hashbrowns. They served the hot hashbrowns on top of the salad which totally wilted it. I ate three bites and set it aside. Just awful, and I LOVE hash browns. They were however extremely polite about asking what was wrong, and if they could re-make it and bring me something else. But having seen my companions chicken burgers (came without cheese, which we were told was included and they actually like) I wasn’t game. Basically the staff were lovely, but in dire need of training, particularly the cooks!

From the menu I ordered ‘braised pork shoulder with crackling’. After having to wait an hour and a half for my meal, I was served an extremely tough and tasteless piece of pork fillet (no crackling) with some near burnt potatoes and steamed vegetables. The gravy that accompanied the meal tasted like something from a packet. On the whole, very, very disappointing. I would have had a better meal at the local roast shop and a whole lot cheaper!
Don’t even think twice about this cafe – it truly is a gem in the city!
