Went there for a drink and had some snacks recently. The owner was there and was so friendly, really nice. We had salt and pepper squid, it was the best I had tried for a long time. This is a nice neighbourhood casual place. We have been back on a couple of Friday night and they have free bar snacks not your usual nuts and rubbish but decent platters of food on the bar. I think this might be our local from now on.

We bought a Groupy voucher to this bar/restaurant because it was close to home, however after reading all the bad reviews we were sceptical…BUT…we had a great night!! The food was good – its a pub, so they do pub food and they do it well. But the best part was the staff (in particular Aiden) who went out of his way to be hospitable, humorous, professional and looked after us extremely well. We will definately go back again…its not a flash place, but it was clean, tidy and welcoming. Great if you need a quick, cheap meal or want to watch sport on their big screens.

Unbelievably bad with a nasty bitter owner berating people for not buying drinks. Never again. Go there at your peril. Paid $60 to get insulted and abused in a drunk Irish accent. Not the most hospitable host (joke- the worst). No wonder it was pretty empty on the crusaders reds night when all else was full. This is not exaggerated at all.
I agree with the mr b. I couldn’t be bothered writing about the free shooter to those with a drink as I have already posted on other sites trying to warn people. It was so bad it was funny. Well not quite.

Have gone there every weekend for last 3 years to watch The Warriors matches and the occasional rugby match, usually drinking at least 2 pints and a meal, The New English owner tonight (Super 15 final) had the nerve to yell at patrons for not drinking enough and served everyone who had a drink a shot. As I had just finished my 2nd glass, and it was empty I apparently didn’t qualify and was told I was a free loader and should feel embarrassed for being there. After being a loyal patron for over 3 years and spending $60 over the last 2 nights I felt incredibly angry and insulted. I shall be taking my $100 a month patronage somewhere else and recommend others do the same.

Decided to go to celebrate but due to an arrogant owner he refused to accept our Groupy voucher as I had not rung up and booked, unbelievable as we were the ONLY diners in the place. A sad looking place with a sad owner. Unfriendly staff, arrogant owner.

Was happy to find a place where my husband and I could watch sports matches with the sound turned up and reasonably priced beer. Unfortunately with the outside area completely open to the bar in summer, the smoking from other patrons made it an unpleasant experience as all the smoke would blow inside. Would not return as management seemed uninterested by this.
