Very good to hear that they always only serve MSG free food. Even all their sauces of which they have about 6 or so were all free of MSG.

The food was very yummy and truly authentic. We had a curry and a dish with noodles which was both very nice. I was also surprised about the prices – a (vegetarian) main dish was only $10 (with meat only $11!)

Food came super fast – we were also the only ones in there as it was quite early, but I was still surprised how fast it was.

Been coming here for ages for take-outs. Its not about the usual asian average foodcourt but the food lol
Its not Symonds St, but down Mercury Lane, Correct
Beef Sizling has a unique taste and I order it for my young son as he likes the succulent sauce, i like this too and my favourite in all iv tried in Auckland would be their Tom Kha, I have med-spicy to h0t.. its color is different than traditional but hits the spot. They can be busy as for located in food court but these meal’s I am happy to wait for. ^_^
Pad Thai seems popular but bores me, i dated a Viet Chef so no noodles for me hehe

I went last night with a groupon voucher and was really pleased with the meal! The voucher gave us great value but actually looking at their menu, I think I would return as their pricing is very reasonable and gives a lot of choice. We had the starting platter and then ordered 2 prawn pad thais. We were very happy with them :) Service was good, staff are really friendly and I felt very welcome to be there. Will be returning :)

Ruang Thong is the one within MERCURY PLAZA down the hill from Mercury Lane off K’rd and near Newton not Symonds Street.

I have been travelling there all the way from Ellerslie area to this affordable great thai food kitchen… I order chicken and mushroom Tom Kah devine from Mild spicy coconut milk based soup with rice for just $8.50 then my second favourite meal is the Beef Sizzling that has a unique flavour to it when you order ‘take out’.. beautiful, quick and definitely popular I have noticed to be..

Oh yeah new quality take out chop sticks form those standard one’s that break in many ways :)

Terrible, but my dog enjoyed it. Pad Thai is a subtle mix of tastes and textures and needs to be cooked to order. Food cooked several hours earlier or reheated just isn’t good enough no matter how cheap it is. I guess you get what you pay for but there are cheaper ways of feeding the dog.

I love this place! handy location & great for takeaways!!! Of course its not a 5 star thai restaurant or anything but its great value for what you pay for.. Around $10 a dish with generous servings; it tastes great! plus it has a A grade food rating on the wall! I’ve been to Thailand twice, love thai food; and would prefer this place to most flash thai restaurants in AKLD that I’ve been too.

This restaurant is terrible. I mean, I’m not exactly a huge thai fan as it is but usually I like the entrĂ©es and the pad thai – from this place everything I had (including pad thai, spring roll, money bag, samosa, and a couple of bites of my partners meal) tasted like it had been cooked in sugary water. I left most of my pad thai and half of each of the entrĂ©es behind as it was just not worth eating.
