Our signature restaurant, located within the Chateau Tongariro, delivers the finest ambiance and all the sophistication expected of the Chateau’s elegant traditions. The glow of chandeliers, the clink of wine glasses, service that is second-to-none and superb Pacific-Rim dining await you here.

Our Executive Chef will mesmerize your taste buds with his culinary masterworks, like the highly-regarded Chateau Briand for two.

Breakfast is also served daily in the Ruapehu Restaurant and is a veritable feast of cooked and continental selections.

The Ruapehu Restaurant offers a rich and intimate dining experience. Suitable dress is required (no jeans or t-shirts) and reservations are essential.

For a resturant of this standard, we expected a lot more. Entrees were cold out of the fridge and stuck to the plate, the salmon had a chili sauce and made my wife sick, the waitress got the wine wrong and from then on was grumpy with us.

Hi Mike. The hotel has made a lot of changes since July 2010, so we hope that when you back at the hotel, you do experience a real change of service and food.
