My first time here at the RB, and the delicious organic muesli topped with a few slices of fresh strawberry, pear and grapes, was utterly scrumptious. It had a sweet cinnamon flavour to it. Yum.
My daughter had a chocolate caramel slice, I stole a bit or two… and it was very very good – with a 3mm thick topping of hard-set chilled chocolate that would make a soft ‘crack’ noise as you bite into it. Mmmmm.

The women running the place were very warm and chatty, and the guy they were training up on his first day was smiley & doing a good job on the front counter.

We enjoyed sitting upstairs by a window with a view across to the greens behind Eden Park. The rooms up here have polished wooden floors, tables & chairs, and really enhance the lovely classic-Kingsland/Mt Eden 2-storey old building. Bathroom was clean & perfume-smelling (always a good sign), even with rolled up cloth hand-towels like at The Langham! very impressive.

I think the RB is great.

We went for Sunday breakfast due to a GrabOne promotion. GrabOne coupons were not accepted due to Moher’s Day. Understandable when a place is full, but RB was two-thirds empty. We waited 5 minutes to be attended, and then placed our order with a poorly-trained staff member. The upstairs dining room smelled of disinfectant. I ordered eggs & toast, but got eggs, bacon, and toast instead. No salt cellars at the tables – I went to ask for salt at the counter only to be asked “is there no salt at the table?”. Plates were delivered without cutlery. Coffee came after the food; I asked for milk with my coffee but got it black Obviously it was the owner’s day off, because the utter indifference of three staff members in an empty restaurant was quite noticeable. This is my first post on MenuMania and I am only writing it because an otherwise-good cafe has lost the plot on customer-friendliness.

Had a lovely evening catching up with friends at The RB tonight. The staff were warm and friendly, the sofa was comfy, the craft beer was cold!!! We shared a mushroom entree and it was devine! I had the pork belly and it was crispy and tender. The prices on some food seemed a bit high but if the portions were as good as ours then no one would be unhappy.
Very happy about this little find. The RB will be getting my business again!

I came to this wonderful place the RB yesterday with my family for lunch,and I really enjoyed everything about the establishment!!!! The lady’s behind the counter where lovely and very warm and welcoming,and seemed very confident with what they where selling and knew there stuff we all ordered lunch and coffee ( which was just the right temp to drink and lovely strong brew off coffee) I had the vege lasagna that was hot and fresh out off the oven full of flavor and texture ,my husband had the soup of the day which was leek and potato he said it tasted like it was home made.my daughter had the wedges w sour cream,bacon and cheese and they looked so golden and gooey with cheese that I just had to steal a few and what was even better about them was the fact that they where baked not fried !!! You could really taste the differents my son had the pasta of the day which was bacon carbonara and he really enjoyed it was full of bacon,mushrooms and lots off creamy sauce. Over all everything was great at the RB,the food the service and the establishment it’s self is very beautiful with rooms both being up and downstairs,great rimu tables and wonderful views off Eden park and the surrounding area. Me and my family will be back for sure!! Maybe brekkie next time highly recommend a +++++

Was great we went for breakfast and service and food were top notch I even had a breakfast beer, Will be going back soon for sure.

Had an awesome Steak Sandwich this week. Staff were so friendly and food was sooooo good. Looking foward to the new dinner menu too!!
