Sala Thai services authentic Thai food which always reminds us of trips to Thailand. Friendly staff, and a laid-back ambience (this is not fine dining, but a good spot for a quick lunch), make this a great spot.

My favourite Thai restaurant in Christchurch.

Their Som Tum (Thai salad) is delicious though as you’ll find in most Thai restaurants it’s made with carrot not papaya. Also good are their Tom Kha Gai and Tom Yum.

We have been going to Sala Thai for 10 years, and absolutely love it. It is the most authentic Thai restaurant we know, and is consistently better than all the others. Many times I have seen Singapore Airlines crew who stay at the hotel down the road, eating there. To me that says a lot.
When we are going to do Thai, there is only one choice in town.
