Service was quick but not rushed, staff pleasent, and not overdone…altho not busy, I think it would have still been the same.
As for the food…I had the Ostrich for starters, what a great dish 10 out of 10..hope they always have it..I then had the Duck…really enjoyed that as well…
My husband had the seafood chowder, and the venison and was very pleased with his meal as well…we will be back..

The service is friendly and not too pushy (which is always a plus for me).
Another plus is the atmosphere, the decor is richly luxurious and the seating is nice and private.

The bread and dips was great – for an entree.I had duck for mains – best Ive had in Whangarei. Its quite surprising really. The staff that attended to us was great. He even recommended what is his favourites in the menu.He explains well every menu.. specially the desserts – which dessert goes with which dessert (I mean portion wise).
They may be not the best in the past but give it a try – its on of the best. The mains are around $27-32 so its not an everyday thing but you get what you pay for really.I will definitely go back there again! Cant wait.

More food was requested from the waitress for the unfortunate but nothing was bought forward.
I must say if this restaurant was booked again for next year I would be surprised, and would probably not even bother the walk up the road.
The only winners of this day would have been the restaurant do to the money paid and the lack of food provided, not to mention the bar takings.
