We eat a LOT of Indian food and my husband lived in Asia for 6 years so we know what it should taste like and Sangam was the worst we have EVER had.
My husband and i shared Chicken Korma and Palak Paneer and our son had the Butter Chicken.
Firstly the chicken in the chicken Korma had obviously been boiled and then added to the sauce prior to serving..there was no infusion of taste/spices in the meat at all. It had that taste that chicken gets when it has been cooked the day before and reheated.
The palak paneer (indian cheese in spinach gravy) tasted like a packet of frozen spinach had been put in a food processor and then heated. it had no taste and was watery.
The butter chicken however was the worst dish of the 3. The sauce tasted like the watties tomato sauce that comes in the cans of spaghetti with a cup of sugar added to it.
When we paid the bill and were asked how the meal was we were honest and told them what we had thought..the guy at the counter admitted i was spot on about the chicken however what was interesting was as soon as the older man (owner) came out the kitchen to see what we were talking about he quickly went silent.
Also, we were there on a Thursday at 7.30pm and there were only 6 other people dining.. not a good sign.
My husband is a huge curry fan and usually when we have indian there is not a single grain of rice left but this time we left over half of the food.
We would never go back.
