Yes, I give Satay Kampong 5 stars! I have been going for years, and for the last 3 years every Friday… The people are friendly, the food fabulous- it’s my comfort food.
Personal favourites are the Curry Laksa, Mee Goreng and roti.
I have had one disappointing meal, and that was when I had the beef Rendang which was overly chewy and fatty. I’m not sure if they were having a bad day, or whether it’s just a weak dish on the menu as I haven’t been brave enough to try it again.
For price and quality of food- I think it’s great value and the dishes are consistent from visit to visit.
Highly recommend for cheap and cheerful meal.

We had trouble from when we first arrived at Satay Kampong. We had more people than initially planned and the staff seemed to be really put out by moving another table despite the restaurant being almost empty.
None of our group of about 12 seemed to enjoy their meals as only two people finished. The lamb curry was ridiculously fatty and chewy and I looked in and the kitchen seemed to resemble a family kitchen with children and the entire family hanging around.
The final straw was their reluctance to let us settle our bill using our Entertainment Book cards. The staff seemed unwilling to listen and unwilling to let us pay separately whilst getting a discount. Ironically the only reason we went there was because it was in the Entertainment Book, yet we ended up paying full price for meals that only two people finished.
Disappointing!

Nice and authentic tasting Malaysian food. Prompt service and reasonably priced. The Hainanese chicken I ordered was tenderly cooked and good size. The accompanying soup and garlic rice were yummy too.
Godo food for the price, we went for lunch and were very happy, good portions, good price, generally under $10.
