When I arrived back in Wellington in March 2011, this was the place my dad reccomended eating at. I have to say, it hasn’t let me down yet, the Chicken Laksa they do is well worth the money, and the quality is delicious.
Easily my favorite Malaysian to eat at.
The prices are affordable and the food is so good the price is a bargain.
A very nice place and the service is friendly.

Just gorgeous food at a really cheap price.
Been there 6 or 7 times and each time gets better. It’s just a pity that they don’t sell beer, but everything else it’s just perfect.

I happened across Satay Palace by incident, I walked past the place and checked out the menu and decided that I’d like to try a specialty dish which is very rare to find in Wellington.
This specialty dish is dish number 9 and it’s a mix of thick and thin noodles. The thin noodles have been made crispy and the thicker noodles are quickly stirfried with some soya sauce. It comes with the yummiest seafood and egg sauce and must be eaten hot and with chilli.
I have continuously ordered this dish as it is very addictive. I have on occasion tried other dishes as well and found them equally great. It isn’t 100% authentic but it’s as authentic as you can get.
You won’t find a better deal, great portion size and tasty food than at Satay Palace.
