Absolutely love this place. We’ve been dining here for over 2 years and keep coming back. It’s our ‘go to place’ for wholesome tasty food and great service. The hospitality and generosity surpass expectations. Fab food, fresh ingredients sourced locally and talented staff keep us coming ‘home’.

We had the chicken korma and butter chicken . Both were the worst indian dishes we have ever had . Very very flavourless except for the strong salt content. Also very strange lumpy texture. We were all extremely unimpressed would not recomend this to anyone !

Well I’ll start by saying i am from a UK town where we have some of the best Indian restaurants in the UK if not the world. They often win awards for their food.

Indian food is my favourite cuisine however Whangarei is seriously lacking in a decent Indian restaurant. I’ll tell you why, the food is sub standard as all dishes taste similar and are NOT authentic Indian dishes. They also use the cheapest cuts of chicken. I know a lot of people think you should cook curry with thigh meat however any chef worth his salt knows how to make a good curry with breast meat without it being dry. The thigh meat they use is fatty and tasteless. I refuse to eat in Indian Restaurants here due to them refusing to cook with breast meat and I know a lot of people feel the same.

Food not so great here butter chicken taste more of tomato paste. Not very nice. Service however is great friendly people. but was the last time.

Great service but I have nothing good to write about the food here. The food was poorly presented. The curry was tasteless, watery and the meat gristly. I am a huge curry lover (and have a pretty healthy appetite) but could not stomach this. Other members of our party- and we were the only people in the restaurant- also did not enjoy their meal. Perhaps it was just a bad night as there are better reviews below, but we will not be going back to find out! Bleugh!

Was very impressed with the service at Shiraz. The staff are polite and friendly and the food was delicious. Will go back!

Lovely big resturant so you don’t feel like your sitting alomsot on top of other people dinning in the resturant.

Fabulous. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is great, and the food is delicious. Their takeaway and delivery service is wonderful. I feel comfortable taking my children there, and they absolutely love the food, even at under 5. It’s also a great place to meet friends before hitting town.
