Went there for family birthday party. Amazing old castle, food was great and the signature meals for big eaters was massive! They actually have a shoulder of lamb meal that is over 1kg!! Lovely atmosphere and the maori lady that served us was fantastic and very helpful.
Really enjoyed it and will certainly return.

We went here for dinner last Saturday night, major problems in all areas. Firstly booking lost, secondly no drinks service for 30 minutes, thirdly no food order taken for two hours from seating, fourthly food: Steak overcooked, didn’t have venison as on menu and wait staff didn’t know until later, vegetarian dish could have been whipped up in any ones home. Service was poor rarely saw wait staff and manner of staff was careless and slack at best. Aparrently under new management, well ceratinly no improvments from what we saw. P.S. wasn’t even fully booked and had function with awful music going on at same time!!! General impression, failing restaurant with no clue of how to provide good service and good food.
