While not a fan of the change of decor since I was last in, I am a big fan of the service and the food.

We hadn’t booked and they were fairly busy but found a table for us straight away. Service was real friendly, efficient & helpful. Our wine was not as cold as it should have been so they had no hesitation in changing it, suitably chilled this time.

The menu looked fantastic and it was a bit tricky trying to decide on our dinner options, however both my husban and I thoroughly enjoyed our scallop entree (that we shared), our mains and our dessert. Mine was the best creme brulee I have had in a long time!

It was a great evening out and we’ll definitely be back, soon!

We went to silver spoon for a girls dinner after hearing good things about it. The meals were terrible, highly disappointing. We ordered the mushrooms for the entrees and felt very ripped off when we were served 2 small mushrooms per entree and charged a ridiculous price. I then ordered the steak with vine tomatoes. The steak was over cooked and has gristle all through it. The tomatoes were not vine tomatoes, instead it was one big tomato cut in half and was tasteless. Not sure why we bothered but we did order dessert which was worse than the mains. I would never go back to this restaurant and when we paid our bill all four of us complained to the waitress and the chef but they both could not of cared less and the chef even said it his last week as a chef there. Very poor service and food.

First time to the restaurant last night and was not impressed at all. A booking that was made in advance was not organised and our group spent 15 minutes waiting for tables to be re arranged. Some items on the menu were not available or had run out. 2 meals we were unhappy with. The Steak fillet which was medium rare was full of gristle and using a steak knife we couldn’t get into it. The ribs also had the same problem but worse. I have never been to a restaurant no matter which level they rank that has served up meat with so much gristle that it is un eatable. Apart from the aioli I would not eat here again.

Although we do not agree with this tough review we have still taken it on board. Our head chef admitted that the first steak that was sent out was not up to standard and he also made me aware of what happened before this review came in. On the night, without…    More »

This restaurant is a favourite of ours. We discovered it through the entertainment book – fell in love with their scallops and venison. Always great service. Always great food. Would recommend to anyone.

TA quiet Friday night due to the rugby being on, so the place was a little lacking in a buzz, but that was about the only thing to detract. Smart service, and great food – we were a group of eight, and everyone was more than happy with their food.
Well done and recommend.

I really enjoy this restaurant, it’s a good standard NZ restaurant. A great place for brunch and dinner. There’s a lot of great choices on the dinner menu. The wine list is a little limited though.
The service can vary in quality, however it is always friendly and comfortable.
I think it’s a great attribute to Silverstream.

We dine here frequently and call in for coffee often. The service is always excellent and they cater for our year old grandaughters marvellously! We have travelled the world and one particular fish meal was the most exquisitely delicious meal of its type i have ever had!! A great place to spend time at.
