I was suggested to go to this place by my sister as she had been and absolutely loved it a year beforehand.

However this was not how we were left feeling…
If this place could get negatives in ratings it would. Was the worst asian food place I’ve ever experienced. I’ve had a lot of food like this before around Hawke’s Bay and also overseas and this was definitly the worst – service and FOOOD!

We arrived at 6.30pm and didn’t get our entre until 7.20pm – of 5 wontons. These were the most editable out of the entire nights meal but were still extremly oily as being deep fried I would think and had not been drained.

Eventually when recieving our meals at 7.40pm of hot spicy duck and the vegeterian hot spicy duck which was told to us in very poor english that this was the veges to go with this arrived. The vegeterian dish was actually a sort of tofu processed attempting to be the duck with the hot spicy sauce covering it and there were no veges to be seen! Absolutely ferral. And the duck was no better, it was majority fat and a lot of bones and minimal amounts of actaul meat. A let down for the price.

As we were not happy with our meal we complained when going to pay and said that we did not think should be paying full amount, however the asian then procceeded to go nuts at us in language that wasn’t even english!

The place was crammed full of junk and random stuff and looked extremely dirty. The chief was wearing dirty work boots suggesting hadn’t even washed up since arriving at his second job. The other custumors around us were not getting looked after and the floor staff were rude to them when they approached to take their orders.

Total price of $52 and the worst asian meal ever that left us heading for maccas and a whole lot poorer.

I do not recommened going there at all unless you want putrid.

Genuinely authentic Chinese food – very delicious.
Owner is flexible to cater to our requests like chilli-hotness or just vegetarian.
Wide choices of dishes which are reasonably priced and the portion is good.

We had the most atrocious experience at this restaurant. We went into the restaurant as it was the only Asian restaurant open at 11:30 am on the street on Dec 27th.

The menu was over priced and the food servings were miniscule.

I thought this is only our experience, but I could see this was the same with other patrons too.

Go to this restaurant at your peril.
