Had a family meal on a Saturday evening while visiting Christchurch. We were walk-in customers and were lucky to get a table as the place was quite full. A cheerful welcome and prompt service. Three out of four of us ordered pizzas, which were delicious. I went for a vegetarian lasagna, which was individually cooked in its own bowl. Scrumptious. We took our own wine, which was kept cool and served cheerfully for a reasonable corkage fee. Desserts were large and reasonably priced. Okay, some of the furniture and decor is a bit tatty and tired, but it’s more than compensated for by the great atmosphere and friendly staff.

We phoned to make a booking as we thought spags would be busy on a Friday night. When we got to the the restaurant we were told we had no booking, even though the man on the phone took all our details. They said they do not do bookings for three people or less, why not just say this on the phone?

Our food arrived, the pizza toppings were very mushy and blended into one flavour, there were no chunky pieces of topping. Some of the toppings promised on the menu were only on a small portion of the pizza.

A bit of an average meal and the staff were not friendly.

Great big menu with choices for everyone and gluten free options which is fantastic. There is nothing like the Spags special, though we love Zorba, Meatlovers and the Capricosa.

Extended drinks menu including some Italian wines. We tried the Ruffino Chianti, reminded me of travel in Italy.
