HEALTHY, FAST FOOD CHAIN, SPUDBAR EXPANDS IN NZ.
Knowing 97% of Kiwis eat potatoes and 53% consume them four times per week*, the clever people behind healthy, fast-food option Spudbar are finally in New Zealand! Spudbar has transformed the humble spud into a tasty, nutritious and value for money meal that has been a huge hit in Australia.
Recognising that potatoes are the most popular vegetable in New Zealand, Spudbar are quietly confident their baked potatoes with a choice of over 30 hot or cold toppings, will quickly become a favourite meal choice for Kiwis throughout NZ.
The first New Zealand store opened on November 27th 2008 at The Palms Shopping Centre food court, Christchurch. Further expansion plans will see additional stores opening in Christchurch, followed by other regions throughout New Zealand.
Founded in Melbourne in 2000, and borne out of frustration at the lack of healthy, tasty food that was quick, convenient and offered value for money, Spudbar is answering the call from customers demanding healthier fast food options. With the obesity epidemic a wide spread concern, a baked potato with a range of hot and cold toppings is the ideal way to consume five serves of veggies in one meal, or a fresh salad that is nutritious and tasty, yet filling.
Spudbar is now looking for franchisees throughout New Zealand.
