i never was a huge fan of sushi but for some reason now i always want it. for something quick and easy st Pierre’s is easy. Would consider it to be a bit overly priced but sushi tends to be anyway and they don’t do a soy roll if you don’t like Norri
This branch of the chainstore St Pierre’s is one of the busiest and most well-known sushi places in Wellington, and though not the perfect do-er of sushi, it’s certainly satisfactory if you’ve really got a hankering for the stuff, or California Sushi is closed
Anyway, they have a good variety of rolls here, miso soup and salad packs, as well as a decently sized dine in area if that’s the mood you’re in. The water cooler with cups is a great addtion too.
Anyway, i always say you can tell the caliber of a sushi joint by the quality of the wasabi – and here – it’s pretty damn watered-down. So yeah, not the best sushi around, but adequate i guess, with a great deal of variety – provided you get there at the right time of course. As with all sushi places, by mid/late afternoon – they’re pretty well sold out of the majority of the dishes, and what’s quite annoying is – they have all these posters around for amazing looking speacilty offer sushis – but none of them ever seem to be around when i’m in there. MAKE MORE OF THESE PLEASE!
