We dine @ STARLAKE on a regular basis as it’s one of the best Thai restaurants in Hawkes Bay, Thai Silk Karamu Road is the other favorite
The food is to die for, the service is always friendly and professional and it is priced appropriately.
Our children also love the food & friendliness of this restaurant.
We own a cafe ourselves and know too well how hard it is to give 100% 100% of the time…these guys have it sorted!

Very poor service, food was OK but didn’t all arrive together. Chef came out at end and was very very rude asked us to leave as he wanted to go home (we had only just got our coffee)

I recently visited Havelock North on a business trip and found time to experience one of its iconic restaurants with fellow company members on a Tuesday night.
A beautiful and intimate Thai setting was the perfect backdrop for our meal. A smiling waitress greeted us at the door and ushered us to a table set specifically for our booking, with menus and cool water already on the Lazy Susan. An incredible range of food left us spoiled for choice, and we eventually settled on a prawn dish, a traditional Panang curry, a stir fry and the Lemon and Honey chicken. The meals were brought out to us in just fifteen minutes, beautifully presented and deliciously hot.
Our wonderful meal was made more perfect by the lovely service, who assured my business partner’s gluten free needs would be catered for.
A reasonable bill and to-die-for desserts were the perfect end to a delightful dining experience!

We went last night and thought the food was astounding!!!!! AAAA++++
Service was fantastic, cheerful and helpful. We personalised the wonton soup without wontons and there were no raised eyebrows or questions asked. It was on our table in less than 10 minutes.
Would definitely recommend to all.

We went specifically because their advert stated Chinese and Thai food, but it’s not Chinese at all, just Thai.. The restaurant was a third full on a Friday night and the takeaway section was busy.

The restaurant staff were nonchalant and unhelpful. The menu choice is fine for carnivores but less appealing to fish eaters and vegetarians. We chose 2 wines before we found one they had in stock.
We asked if the sweet and sour pork could be changed for prawns and the answer was a resounding no. They would not serve a portion of plain noodles either.
The food portions were ok, the food came in stages and was hot.
