10 Reviews for Starlight Cabaret Restaurant – CLOSED

I had been to Starlight when they first opened with a small group of people. We found the food to be great, but the show a little unpolished. Just a few little things that added up, like the music being too loud. I think they have taken onboard some of the feedback, but do remember that they cant please everyone all of the time, and the show that they put on is largely dependant on the audience demographic.

They have just opened their new concept “dining with the stars”. I went with a group of 10 or so on Saturday night. They have made a number of improvements to the actual building which gives it a much more welcoming feel. The show aspect of this takes a much more backseat role, and isnt as full on. You can actually sit and hold a conversation. Our entire group found the food to be brilliant- it isn’t fine dining but is certainly very good value for money for the buffet. There wasnt one aspect of the meal that we weren’t happy with. Service was good and I would rate this higher than Valentines a few doors down…

I think everybody should come and see the show for yourself!!! I love it but I’m the bar lady and I believe it’s an individual thing either u like it or you don’t. So I think you should check it out for yourself instead of listening to other people and these reviews. To Richard and Andrew I love u both and think you’re doing an awesome job..I love u both. It is obvious from the other reviews that Starlight has not taken any of the past feedback into account – well they possibly have in the food department as although I wouldn’t rate it exceptional, it was edible and not awful – a little better than what we had expected to be honest….

As for the show, I’m no expert by any means but I picked up on so many things that could have been done better.
1. Main guy – this show was created for you to have your moment on stage wasn’t it…and well Ricky Martin, you must be taking the p***??? Thats was awful!
2. Ladies – probably best part of show – but practise, practise, practise!!
3. Lady singer – you can sing but pity the volume was so loud, you were screaching. Also need to relook at your outfits – they are NOT flattering on you – neither was the main guy by the way!
4. guy dancers – you really didn’t have a clue did you, poor things, we just felt sorry for you…
5. Lights/Smoke/Sound – Too much strobe light – very destracting!!! Way too much smoke, very unpleasant!!!turn it down!!! Did you notice a lady fainted and was carried out by her friends!!!

I do have to say though, that I do commend the idea – its great for Palmy to have something like this, but it could be done so much better – come on, Palmy is full of great talent – plenty of dancing and singing schools in the region, get out there and find them!!!

If you don’t do something soon, I can’t imagine it being a very successful, lasting business venture….remember, customer is always right, so take the feedback and use it for your own good. Good luck!

Right – lets start with the show… Fairly talented preformers, the singers were good, the costumes were great – but overall, it was an ametuer production. Quite a shame really as they have the talent, and the potential, but haven’t lived up to it.

However, it really didn’t matter how good or bad the show was at the end of the day as the meals were pathetic, and that fact cast a shadow over everything else. Mine consisted of a small chicken breast (very dry), a small piece of stuffing (overcooked and tasted like cardboard) and roast vegetables (that were still raw, and very cold…) Cooking for the patrons that attended that evening should not have been a complicated task as the restraunt was only a third full.

Overall – a total rip off. $69 per person is far more than anyone would be willing to pay for the experienced received. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Food Rating would be zero stars, but the quality of show brought my overall rating up to a 1 out of 5.

The show overall was good.

The meals were a big disappointment. The main courses were served cold. The vegetables were undercooked and cold.

I would not recommend this show to anyone. It was not a good way to end the year with our staff.

I gave it a 1 star for the hilarity it gave us! The food was disgusting and for the price the show was very amateurish

If this had been a comedy it would have been great but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. The costumes were wonderful and the choices of song lovely. However the singing and dancing was very second rate and the music up to loud. The meal was substandard and four members of our group were forgotten. When the meals FINALLY came out it was VERY late and no real apology was offered. To add to our woes a drink was spilt on another group member resulting in him having to go home (in the country)to change.I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone at this stage.

If you are Looking for a Good Meal this is not the Place to go. I Rate this Menu as inadequate.. Main Course consisted of small Steak (Cooked Well) 1 small Sliver of Pumpkin and Stuffing that was to hard tasted awful..
Other courses prior were very poor.

Costumes were Great.. Lighting effective..Service was poor and meal spread over to long a period.

Within 5 minutes of arrival Clumsy Waiter had Tipped a Bottle & Glass of Beer on us and compensation was not offered Just Curt Remark accidents happen.
Over-rated/Overpriced and not an experience i would recommend.
