Called in here for our 2nd time on Saturday after debate that surely 2 years later the coffee can’t be bad again. We had also previously eaten here and were not that impressed.
A family of 6 were in front of us ordering lunch and we ordered coffee. we were the only 2 lots of customers in there and there were 3 front counter staff on (whom I commented that the place looked like it was being run by children and they had no customer service skills whatsoever)
After 25 mins we got our coffee after seeing the families meals come out before our coffee.
Once again our takeaway coffees were thrown in the bin further down the road!!!
Its a shame as this is in a prime position and given the right mix of staff (who are professional and don’t talk about their private lives so all can hear) it could do very well. They definitely need coffee making training also

Nice setting. Food OK (that’s if you are into over cooked green beans wrapped in bacon or tinned asparagus wrapped in filo pastry!). We were served by one waitress who was the only waitress on a Saturday night. She was serving 7 tables both inside and outside. She clearly didn’t want to be there and was extremely brisk in her attitude almost bordering on rude. Was one of those restaurants that you have to get up and go and ask if you can order a drink. Unfortunately, there is no real competition in Lake Brunner so it’s either this place or a packet of crisps back in the motel. Might be best to eat in Greymouth.
