Hubby and I(Upper Hutt) having a break in Wanganui for long weekend, went to Stellar for brekkie this morning. Got the french toast with bacon, banana, maple syrup, creme freche and a side of mushrooms. OMG!!!! it was the best french toast ever and now benchmarks all french toast brekkies for the future!! Robert at Stellar – you rock. Fantastic meal, fantastic service, loved it and highly recommend it. Hubby says ‘ditto’ for him. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Wanganui. Thank you Robert, thank you Stellar for a memorable brekkie
yesterday i phoned to enquire about the desert menu because i was unable to find a menu for desert online, i was greeted by a female on the phone & also loud music in the background, i asked what was the menu for desert 3 times before she could understand or evan hear me, i was very upset & surprised at her negative sarky attitude towards me, she told me that im to bizzy to find out & if you could ring back in 15 minutes and then she hang the phone up on me, i consider her phone manner attitude very rude & disgusting. The basics of making a bussiness successful start with good communication skills towards a customer, take note of this, thank you.
Went here to celebrate my birthday, the service was so slow but the food made up for it when we eventually got it. Prices can be abit steep.

Lunch menu is pretty sub par, and the place always smells like gas. Partner had a bird feather (looked like a sparrow) in his burger (which was hamburger, when he’d ordered a chicken burger – a funny joke perhaps), we complained, were not offered a replacement meal, but got our 2 coffees credited – not enough as far as I’m concerned. Chef apologised, but tried to pass the blame on to the previous day’s staff, though how this wasn’t noticed when cooking or serving I don’t know, it was pretty obvious (sticking right out the side of the burger from inside the meat patty). Have previously had pleasant experiences dining at night, despite gassy smell has a good vibe after work, meals are decently sized and they cook a good steak. They pour a very big glass of wine, about two standard glasses, which I would have appreciated had I not been pregnant and allowing myself a small drink for a special treat. Menu could be a bit more inventive. Haven’t been back since feather incident, probably won’t, bad hygiene practices are a real turn off, especially when pregnant.

Organised a 24 person event there the set menu we chose was good and service was good but trying to organise an event there was hard due to contact details not being available and they needed to know alot of details compared to other resturants that i have dined at. On the night the dinner was cooked very well hats off to the chef, waiter Tamara(I think that was her name) very good and well presented, clearly spoken.
