Went as a guest of a member of their VIP club. Considered joining myself, as it’s generous.
I’ve been here a handful of times over the years, and it’s as good or better than ever.
The food was honest, well prepared, and delicious. The service friendly and obliging.
It’s a rustic vineyard Resturant, and one of the best of its type in NZ.
The wine was also very good, and I liked trying them all in taste size.
Overall it was excellent, and is good value for the quality and service.

A group of 8 of us went to Stonyridge Vineyard for lunch last Saturday, and not only was the weather spectacular – but so was the view, food and service – not to mention the amazing wine!
As we were lucky to have booked, we were promptly shown to our well placed table overlooking the vineyard. Yet saying that – there is no bad table in the restaurant at all. Every table is outside – covered and has a stunning view.
I highly recommend booking for this restaurant – as it was incredibly booked and many people were turned away…or were instead invited to do tastings to the side of the bar.
As it was an incredibly hot day – most of us ordered the Snapper as a main, with a few breads and dips to kick start the lunch – topped off with a nice bottle of bubbles to help cool us off.
We could see other dishes coming out – they all looked equally as impressive, and judging by the happy looks on the customers’ faces, they seemed to enjoy them as well.
As we ate our lunch we were fairly quiet as we devoured our plates with incredible gusto, and sat back with satisfaction, taking in the vista of the vineyard.
One more drink and we were ready for the beach.
So for an entree, main and a couple of wines each – we thought we did well for just under $50 per person, and were impressed with the service as it was well timed, friendly, casual yet efficient and welcoming.
We would definitely recommend this restaurant, and would love to return for another visit…in fact the Maitre ‘D asked us upon leaving “…So we’ll see you tomorrow?”
Only if.
