My husband and I decided to give the Strathern Inn another try recently. We were greeted by a friendly barman/manager and shown a seat in the almost empty restaurant. My husband had pasta and enjoyed it despite there being enough to feed an army! My stuffed chicken had too much cream cheese in it and over powered the whole meal making it sickly. My veges were frozen mixed veges out of a packet, my roast potatoes were obviously from the day before and reheated in the microwave…not nice at all! When we asked for dessert menu we were told kitchen could be closed (it was 8.30pm!) A ‘pavlova’ arrived…2 meringues stuck together with cream, raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce, more cream, a twisted slice of orange, and believe it or not…chocolate sprinkles and all of this squirted and sprinkled across the entire plate. It felt like nana’s place! The entertainment was lovely but we won’t be going again. The waitress/bar person, jack of all trades it seems really needs to dress herself up a bit too. She looked like she had just finished the cleaning!

Good wholesome food. Very friendly staff with good sense of humour.
hi my hubby decided to take me on a date last night so we went to strathern inn as we havent been there before,
we just got the strathern loaf to share for starters and can i say it was the nicest bread we have had any where.
hubby had steak for his main meal and said it was cooked perfectly and he really enjoed his meal i had the stuffed chicken breast that was stuffed with cream cheese and apricots and it was devine, they didnt have the flashest deserts but there was 5 or 6 things to pick from.
every thing was reasonbly priced.
all in all it was a lovely meal and a good night out and we would be happy to go back.

myself and friends dined for lunch on the 13th July food was average, bar lady/pokies lady/waitress I mean she was doing everything was lovely. Amy your a credit to the business, keep up the good work, but in all honesty if we were to go back it would only be for a drink with the plesant staff

long story short the strathern inn is depressing, from its boring menu to its awful music and bad service. disliked and will not be back.
