I’ve been going to Sunshine takeaway for 22 years – I’ve even watched their kids grow from new borns to adults!

You can’t beat this place for a decent takeaway, and it’s very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and always greet you with a smile, especially when they’ve known you for 20+ years!

For a quick snack try the fish burger and for something more substantial go for the combination fried rice.

I came across this Little gem completely by accident, late last week when looking for a takeaway that was actually open after 9.00pm in Lower Hutt. Whilst the exterior is run down and the inside no better, the food is amazing.

We ordered, combination fried rice, sweet and sour pork, steamed wontons and chicken chop suey and I could not fault any of them. Potentially the tastiest Asian food I have eaten – certainly from a take away.

Would highly recommend. The only word of advice I would say is to take cash as they do not take eftpos.
