Visited yesterday for lunch. All the dishes looked very appetizing, it was hard to decide what to have! I decided on kumara and zucchini cake and my friend had the salmon on potato rosti. The cakes and slices also looked tempting and I had the almond and orange cake with my friend having the blackcurrant oaty slice. The food was delicious, especially the blackcurrant slice yummylicious!

We both found the waitress to be really friendly and bubbly despite it being very busy. Recommend this place.

We went to Suter Cafe with a group of 12 last week. We dropped in an hour in advance to ask whether we needed to book or just to give them warning at least and we were basically told off for bringing a group to the cafe! We realised they seemed stressed so we ordered all at once and got the last person in the party to pay for everything, in order to keep it simple for them. The waitress was unhappy about serving us from the beginning. Her manner was unwelcoming, tense and she got defensive at simple requests.

Some of our food arrived cold and when we asked to have it reheated the rude waitress made obvious hand signals as she walked away from us and made faces to other customers.

We were extremely disappointed in the whole experience. Some of the food was great but the disgusting service ruined the entire lunch.

We went back a few days later with a much smaller group because we thought it might be worth a second try. Enjoyed a nice meal, however when we mentioned the previous disappointing experience to the owner she defended her staff and told us we had been rude!

Would not recommend this cafe to anyone because of the apalling customer service.

Lunch food was average, a very rude waitress at the front, maybe having a bad day! Snapped at us for repeating a request to have our coffee after, not during, our meals! spoilt the garden experience for us. I will not take my business there again. Not recommended if you like to be treated as a client, or even just politely!! A shame for such a beautiful touristy area.
