Maybe the person who last reviewed is a not so kapiti style person. Best indian on the coast and always attended by locals. Thanks Tandoori for a great meal… all the time.

Was very disappointed.
A standard butter chicken that arrived sloppy and watery, the meat was a little fatty and the sauce itself just didnt have much flavour. The spiciness was there but it just didnt have the flavours to back it up.
Poppadoms were stale, the rice was bland (unsalted and didnt have the cloves etc that some of the more detail oriented places will do) and the garlic naan seemed like the garlic was out of a jar and not fresh.
Overall very disappointing and quite surprised by the great reviews as they were what convinced us to give it a try in the first place…

I visited the Tandoori Cafe Indian Restaurant last weekend and was impressed with the experience. I had read favourable reviews on this web site and my expectations were high.
The service was very friendly. I’d recommend their chicken korma; it was delicious.
I noticed that all of the tables had reserved signs on them and after enjoying a wonderful meal I wasn’t surprised at all!!! I encourage others to dine here.

Best Indian on the coast. Hands down.
And as others have mentioned, they’re not afraid of adding a bit of spice, either

Excellent curries and fantastic garlic narn. Very friendly service and they even do deliveries now.
Good curry, especially if you like it hot. From my experience if you like reasonably hot curry, order as medium. Be warned if you order hot, that’s exactly what you will get, more like English hot… But goooooood.

I am a curry fanatic and travel for work all over NZ which gives me the opportunity to sample the local curry. There are few good Indian restaurants but this one is better than most. I have been there many times. Excellent high quality food with great flavour reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Note – order mild if you are not used to authentic Indian and you will enjoy.
