we went there for a sunday morning brunch and it was delicious – great omelette and hearty and satisfying broth. Good honest food to match their rustic decor. Great value for money, nice and cosy atmosphere.

The giveaway for good coffee is usually a calm, laid back barista. Someone who clearly knows their stuff. This was the guy who just made one of the best coffees I’ve had since getting here.

This is a place of relaxed confidence with mismatched crockery, the smell of fresh baked breads and sweets and a top breakfast. Perfect eggs, delicious bacon, crunchy toast and tasty hollandaise.

If I lived here I’d live at Tangente!

Cold wet morning in Dunedin. Looking for somewhere for coffee and snack before flying North. Stumbled across Tangente. Delightful wholesome food. The best savoury pin wheel ciabatta/scone/pastry I’ve ever had. Vegetarian and Ham options available. Light,crusty,tasty. In short, sublime. Good coffee and relaxed Sunday morning crowd.

Visited for Breakfast on Saturday morning. Nice pleasant atmosphere, quite earthy , but that’s a good thing. The food was served promptly and as ordered. The jug of milk with the Muesli was good. The cooked breakfast was nice and appetising,well presented and nicely cooked.

The food at Tangente is lovingly prepared and is real food with organic ingredients.
I would highly recommend their Seafood Chowder and Vegetable Broth. They have an excellent menu whether you need just a snack or a meal. They also sell freshly baked organic bread. The decor is older and informal. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and friendly. Excellent.
