This was very disappointing.
The service was efficient and pleasant but not always knowledgeable! The menu was straightforward but the food as presented was unappealing and more like a home cooked meal. Those meals are nice if that is what you want, but an advertised cafe should be able to produce delicious food whether it be simple or not. The yum factor was decisively missing.
The mushroom entree was undercooked, the Shrimp and Avocado was uninspiring.
When we got to the mains our concerns were confirmed!
The serving of vegetables were unattractive and slightly overcooked for us both. There is no excuse for a pork chop cooked to the point of dryness. The chicken in tarragon sauce produced dry chicken pieces and an unrecognisable sauce.
The desserts were very plain, took ages to arrive and spectacularly ordinary (although the custard was lovely) .
With a bottle of wine the bill was over one hundred dollars – certainly not value for money.
I understand their lunches are better – they would need to be!
There is clearly potential, but some change and improvements are urgently needed.
