We have been going to this great Japanese restaurant since it opened 6 years ago. We have taken many a friend & family member. Its the only restaurant that I know of that treats you like your one of the family. The food is fantastic, fresh and very tasty. The staff are great and very friendly. Teppanyaki Takao is a gem. A short drive north of Christchurch and you will be treated to a microcosm of Japanese culinary excellence. Service, presentations,flair & exquisite tastes.
This is the first time I have been compelled to review a restaurant. Everything was exceptional.
Grilled prawns were a real treat.

This is our favourite place to dine! They have so much nice food! I recommend the prawns with the sauce that they do for them! Everyone should go here!!!!!

A group of us went tonight and had the most amazing time. We all had the chefs special and it was brilliant. Brilliant food and the best entertainment. I highly recommend the Teppanyaki Takao restaurant and can guarantee that we will be back there again. I can now see why all my friends have raved over the place for so long.

This restaurant is much better value for quantity, quality and price than at least four others in Christchurch. We try to dine here at least once a month and have introduced many to share the enjoyable experience

We went there first about 6 weeks ago, have been back about 4 times… You could say we like it! Friendly staff, great food, and some entertainment. Sit at the cooking tables, and get your food fresh off the hotplate. Food is ready quick, and tastes fresh! Little bit of showmanship in the preparation.

We went to Teppanyaki Takao last night with a group from work. I had not been before and it is now my favourite thing. The staff were so customer focused and attentive, the chef was very talented. The flavours were amazing and cuts of meat, top quality. not just the food, but the entrainment of this style of food is awesome. Very enjoyable night and already planning on going back there with friends and family

We have been here three times and have never been disappointed. The seafood special is our favourite with a good blend of fish, shellfish and vegetables. As you would expect from a teppanyaki restaurant, the chefs deliver the goods, both in standard of cooking and entertainment. Four stars is a very good rating, it’s pretty hard to dig a five star rating out of me.
