We get dinner from Tesoro at least once a week. The food is beautiful and fresh and packed full of amazing flavours. I usually get the salad and it is the perfect size and the price is completely reasonable and the service is great!

A charming little cubby hidden just outside the main centre of the main street, Tesoro provides the New Plymouth public with a great range of Mexican food and outstanding service. Reyse and the girls provide excellent customer services and demonstrate professionalism and entrepreneurship beyond their years.
There is easy parking; a big, bold and easy to navigate menu and to say the food is amazing would be an understatement. I also appreciate the amount of delicious food I receive, for the amount of money I pay.
I eat Tesoro once, if not twice a week and it is the number one spot I suggest when meeting up with friends for lunch. This is a highly recommended little spot for lunch at the shop, or on the go to the beach which is less than 1km away.

My favorite take-away! Good to call ahead during busy times. I’ve tried it all and love it all, but since I usually eat vegetarian my favorite is a vege taco or burrito. I appreciate the fish is fresh, the sauces are authentic and delicious–not sweet, and the chips are fried on the spot. Sound like Kelly had a bad experience which is a shame, but overpriced and even comparing to Old El Paso are the last things I’d say about this place!

Was expecting good things but really disappointed. The food didn’t stay hot and it was so sloppy so ended up with wet, cold, overpriced muck.
All round thought it was no better than making your own at home with Old el Paso unfortunately, except they had no guacamole!

I’m sorry you had an unfortunate experience, with guacomole we make it fresh constantly every day and can only make so much with what we have in stock and cant overstock in case it goes bad and that’s not something we can afford. Also we are strong believers in…

Stumbled across this place by accident whilst looking for a listing for a kebab shop.
So glad I did. Had the barbacoa beef salad in a fried tortilla. The beef was absolutely amazing. Melt in the mouth, moist and full of flavour.
Will definitely be going back for more!
