Service was good, and the food came really fast, a little too quickly for my liking but the food was definitely not authentic Thai. I’ve spend many months in Thailand across the country and we ate popular dishes that we knew what they should taste like. The Pad Thai was pink and really greasy. The chili and basil dish was swimming in a soy / sweet sauce which wasn’t too horrible but not what we expected! The green curry was fine. The vegetables in the dishes were cooked perfectly. Everything had been pre cooked which is fine for some dishes but not others, the ribs – a starter – arrived after our mains – and did not taste like they had just been cooked.
Plenty of really good authentic Thai restaurants out there, this is not one of them. No Thai people eating there and actually no Thai waiting staff which seemed odd.

As Thai canium is just down the road from my home, i thought i would take the family there last Saturday. it’s a great place to take the family. the best meal was the pud Thai and it was a pretty generous serving. the gurry puff side we ordered was a little disappointing for its brilliant taste teased us as we only had three small puffs! overall the service was polite, great atmosphere and reasonable price. better get in now!

the food was great fast and the service was 5 stars first time i have had Thai food and loved it.the meat was so mortised and the veges and rice was perfect would recommend this place to everyone and any one beautiful and lovely warm feeling thank you for making my first time experience with Thai food the best.and really cheap.:):):):):)*****
popped into this restaurant after a film at the Roxy . The service was quick and the and the decor and atmosphere was ambient and pleasant , not a bad start.
Now I know ordering lamb shanks in a massuman curry at a Thai restaurant was probably asking for trouble but i thought what the hell as i was hungry and was thinking meat and potatoes.the meal didn’t take long to arrive and the First impression was wow ,but as i looked into the bowl and moved some stuff around my excitement quickly faded . The meat was as it should be and fell from the bone but the sauce/curry was disgusting . The shanks were basically sitting in a puddle of their own fat and the dark brown curry base was languishing on the bottom begging to be mixed with the the grease .This pretty much ruined the meal for me and I genuinely felt queasy afterwards. Further more the grease and curry paste NON mixture tasted or looked nothing like a massuman curry…it doesn’t stop there . There was only one SMALL piece of potato about an inch cubed in the dish and when i mentioned this to the waitress she defended it by saying the cooks go to proportion of the dish ?? …what ever that means !!
Sorry love customer speaking here and the menu clearly states served with chunky potatoooooeS and spring onion (there were three of them by the way) overall a good start but disappointing finish .will not be returning.

It was good for the price of items.
The decor was a little austere, however the service was lovely. We enjoyed the flavours & look forward to returning. They catered well for our group

Having been to Thailand, we disagree with Peejay’s review. We found the flavours to be both authentic and delicious. The prices were fare, the meals were big, and the quality of food consistently good.
We wish Thai Canium would open up a restraunt in the city.

The positives – the place is fresh and bright. The service is excellent – really fast and super friendly.
The negatives – it’s not really Thai food. There’s a nod to Asia but the flavours are not genuine, and lack any punch. Clearly shortcuts are taken. The prices are pretty high too.
When you compare this place to the abundance of cheap, authentic Asian cafes around Wellington, it doesn’t come off too well. But if you’re in Miramar, are not very adventurous or new to this style of cuisine, and want a pleasant and quick experience, you could do worse.
