Was lovely we had take away’s and enjoyed the food was Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! BUT the takeaway container was only half full the rest was garnish was really really disappointing!!!!! $29 Will not be going back

We love this place … the food is always cooked to perfection! Fresh, tasty and beautifully presented! We’d dine here anytime!!! Plus we LOVE the service it really makes the entire meal. We consider this excellent value for money.

Bland and boring. Decided to give this place a second chance for takeaways and wish we hadn’t. All the dishes looked the same, and didn’t taste much better. They looked quickly thrown together and messy with only a slight variation in sauce colour to help us tell the difference. The meat was tough and there was none of the love good thai cooking needs to bring flavours together.
Crinkle cut vegetables do not automatically make a dish authentic thai.
For $56 you’d expect something superior to Noodle canteen, but alas no.
I’d be ashamed to send those dishes out of my kitchen.
If there is ONE halfway decent thai restaurant in Tauranga I’ve yet to find it and we’ve tried them all…

For me this is the best restaurant in Tauranga. The food is very fresh and tasty, the portion are big and no additional money for rice (like in other Thai restaurants). Service is exellent, too. We will be back!!

Food is always good, if a little spicy for the initiated – I live spicy good though so am never disappointed.
Sadly, the ambience in the restaurant and level of service are totally lacking (particularly as it’s not cheap) and portion sizes are quite small – however, and excellent option for takeaway!!

the food was fine, if a bit pricey (as it is in most of Tauranga , compared to Auckland) but it was so quiet and the staff so lacking in any enthusiasm that it was like eating in a funeral parlour, no ambience at all.

Fine if you want to just eat.

Thai food is the food is the best and this restaurant sure provided that perfect meal for me. But i think charging customer $2:50 for a small scoop of rice is pretty hard. at least try to have it as much rice as you can eat or charge the right amount because $2:50 is just stupid if you think about it. Thai food plenty of rice!!!!!!

Thai Palace is the best Thai restaurant in Tauranga/mount maunganui by far. The ingredients are always of the highest quality and freshness and above all consistant. Service is excellent. Nice clean premises and lovely atmosphere. So lucky to have such a great restaurant.

This is unquestionably one of the best Thai and Asian food restaurants I have ever attended. One Proprietor, Murray, is mine host and the other, his wife Kim, is the chef. They grow a lot of their own vegetables and the meals are superb. Murray’s style of hosting, a combination of dry, almost gloomy wit with excellent and friendly service, give you more than just the food to look forward to. I am lucky to live nearby so I eat there a lot.

If you want a real authentic Thai meal in Tauranga then without a doubt this is the place to go. Services is great – if a little unique – but hey the guy has a sense of humour and is warm and welcoming. The cuisine superb! Well worth a visit, we shall be back.
