Tiffanys Restaurant and Bar has reopened on 27 April! It is refurbished, restocked, and proud to introduce their exciting new chef, Mauro Battaglia who comes to the restaurant straight from London following his recent role in charge of 21 chefs, working under a Michelin star Chef. ex-Savoy chef Mauro was born and trained in Italy and has impeccable credentials specialising in classic French & Italian cuisine.
At Tiffany’s you can once again experience white linen, fresh flowers and fine dining, in the safe & quiet oasis between the leafy riverbanks of the Avon, the still-gorgeous flower beds on the corners of Durham St, Oxford Tce, Lichfield St and St Michael’s Church. Easy access up Montreal and right onto Oxford.
Earlier strengthening means the Tiffanys’ heritage building, Tudor House (1907), has come through the quake with barely a crack. Owners Noel McGuigan & Sharon Rees-Thomas have been busy refurbishing the restaurant and restocking the wines. Tiffany is famed for its cellar which offers discerning diners over 120 wines. Tiffany’s returns with new chef, new menu, subtle refurbishment, whilst retaining its old commitment to service, quality and providing guests with a memorable experience. The outdoor terrace overlooking the Avon, plus its historic dining room that seats 100 it is also perfect for functions.

My dad was really looking forward to their pork belly but was greatly disappointed. The first time it came out, it hadh crispy but burnt crackling to the point that you can taste the bitter carbon debris. We politely asked the chef to remake the dish and the wait staff defended for him but eventually gave my dad the second plat of pork belly. This time the crackling was way undercooked like it had never been grilled in the oven at all!! We have left flabbergasped and my dad carried on eating like nothing happened as he was too embarrassed to ask for it to be recooked. The rest of the food we ordered was average compared with the very expensive price we had to pay. The prime steak I had was meant to be medium but it came as almost well done. My sister ordered yellow fin tuna which was lack of taste. We did not order any desserts because we did not want to be any more disappointed. If I didn’t have an entertainment card I would not have come to this place and we are not planning to return to this place either.
We have dined here twice before, approximately 10 yrs ago and left feeling disappointed on both occasions due to the attitude of the wait staff.
Despite this however we decided to book for lunch for four.
The waitress was attentive and accommodating, initially we chose to sit outside but a sight precipitation made us move inside. We were surprised to see that the restaurant was not at all busy despite the lovely setting and realistically priced lunch menu.
We ordered between us the selections of breads, Oysters, Venison Burger, Mushroom Risotto, Market Fish (Monk Fish), Tiramisu, Ice Cream selection, and to drink Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc.
After placing our order we were later informed that the Venison Burgers were not Venison but Lamb. However they happily substituted part of the Market Fish dish and replaced it with Vegetables when asked, which were cooked to perfection.
Each dish was as described and exceeded our expectations.
We would gladly dine here again.
